Rugby League was the winner yesterday. Although we did snatch it at the death, the game could have easily gone either way. I have to say that that was one of the most exciting games I have seen in many years - I have to go back to our (rare) glory years of John Woods and Dessie Drummond to say that.

I thought Fax were clinical in the first half. We had to step it up and did so in the 2nd, but even then, without hardly any decent territory you still managed to get in front again. If we had of lost then of course I would have been gutted but it was such a cracking game that I would have 'got over it' quicker than usual.

Your fans are great sports. I cannot say that about many sets of fans and yours were a credit to R.L. yesterday. Quite a few were shaking our hands at the end and that is how it should be. I really hope that many Leythers would have done the same if the roles were reversed. There seems to be a good relationship between the two sets of fans and long may this continue.

I hope we meet again in the playoff final as the atmosphere was brilliant, as was the banter before the game.
