I think it is very harsh to say MC is doing "crap" at his job. If you judge him over his entire period rather than the last 8 weeks, he has done extremely well.

I agree that there are areas where he always has seemed to struggle - getting the team to play consistently and on the line defence spring to mind. However, until now, these have been compensated by the attacking rugby which MC seems extremely capable at coaching.

In successful businesses, management help those with talent and potential by training them in their weaker areas.

Even if Noble does join, it may not work. However, I admire the board for their faith in MC, and looking at an alternative way to solve a problem.

What will Calland's role be? Does he just do what Nobby says? Who will the players take instruction from? How does a coaching "partnership" like this operate?

Matt calland and martin hall didnt do too bad together and so i dont see any reason why calland and noble couldnt work together aswell

calland and noble should already have a decent raport due to their time at bradford together? so seems to me like a good arrangement

I do think the board have done pretty well, so I thank them.
Will be interesting to see what Brian makes of certain individuals on the playing side who think they are big time charlies, I wont mention names but a couple of the fans favourites could take a hike for me, its a team game and a compilation of the best individual players dont neccesarily make the best team, as we know all too well.

Yeah but I wonder how it works? Who does what? Who interacts with the players more. Who controls the game plan and routines? Never thought about it before really.

Well defence comes down to 3 things

Fitness , are your players fit enough ?

Strategy , does Matt understand defensive structures ?

And last of all , mental toughness , can he motivate them keep going when their bodies don't want to ?

Now Brian can probably bring all these things to them , problem is will he also ruin their attacking abilities as well

Come on now, when are they going to tell us the outcome of yesterday, He is either with us or he isn't.

Club could look a little stupid if it is mentioned on t.v at 3.00 today before the club announce anything. I was rather hoping it would have been announced this morning. Perhaps it would boost sales a little for tomorrow but for me it would boost the atmosphere of the shay knowing that these things are now put in place for the next game next weekend against featherstone. Could be halfway point with only 6 points still as Fev, Leigh and sheffield are bloody hard games. The fixtures this year are completly unfair on the teams Leigh have hit the ground running and have all their harder games early.

Have we had all our hardest games early ? , we played you and Widnes , our next match is Sheffield away next Sunday , that will be a huge game for us , but then again I could easily see us losing on our travels at Dewsbury or York , our competition is very good , it's just a shame more people aren't interested in it

I'm not having a dig, we all play with the cards dealt, what i am trying to get at is we as every other team in the league should play everyone once in the first half then again in the second half. I beleive its something mto do with sheffield and the gorund grass being relayed or something that has caused all this.

For instance we have featherstone, Leigh, and sheffield twice in the first 10 fixtures ( half way point ).

It is an odd fixture list this year. We (Leigh) played Barrow twice and Fev twice in our opening 6 matches! As it turned out we coped with the tough start really well but if we'd had a slow start our confidence could have been shot before the season had really got going! I've thought for years that the RFL seem to put very little thought, time or effort into planning the fixtures below SL level.
