These players for whatever reason have been deemed not good enough and they have been cut from the 1st team squad to make way for new players under the salary cap.

Gerrard and Ford haven't really figured. Netherton looked like he wasn't going to figure all that much. Makes sense to remove them from the wage bill if you aren't going to play them.
