The WCs averaged about 4600 last season, what happens if that was novelty value and the gates are half that this season ?.
What happens if hughes at quins says..unless someone comes in and helps with the costs i'm out of here at the end of this season ?.
Then theres the court case about image right which could cost SL clubs millions.
ALthough i think some of you are being a bit daft with building your hopes up so much..it'll be so painful if you dont get the nod.'"
I dont think its daft building up our hopes.
I think most people on this board, and most fans that I know, realise the chances of a superleague licence for 2012 is pretty slim.
The March announcement will most definately go to Widnes.
What we have to do, as a club, is make it as difficult as possible for the July decisions, ie with the exception of location, what has Crusaders, Quins or Catalan got that Halifax hasnt? You could say fan base, but when we were in the top flight we showed that our average gates could be as good, if not considerably better than Quins and the potential ones at Crusaders, and as for Catalan, how many will they take to Leeds, Bradford, Wigan, St Helens etc? I am damn sure that Halifax will take more than they do.
The main concern that I have, as a Halifax fan, is for the 2015 onwards, because the RFL have a history of changing the goalposts and they could make it even more difficult for Championship clubs to make the step up.
