I would not say it was a good game, dour and tough, very tough for a 'Friendly'.
Conditions did not help, wet and a muddy pitch although it held up well under the circumstances.
Why do people still rate Bowman? Two games now and he has created virtually nothing. danny Jones was very rusty he will get better, Miles was very solid as was Paul white. sam barlow has great hands he slips the ball out really well but is a hot head! Batley wanted it a bit more but to say how much ball they had and good field position then 11-4 was not a bad score for us, we did not create much which is a worry but it is only pre-season come on.

Agree on Bowman, just not quite working for him at moment.

Pleased with our defence today and I think this year it has to be our defence that wins us games as we have lost a hell of a lot in attack class wise, Gleeson, Holroyd, Brannigan, Royston, Tamghart, thats a big chunk of our attack gone, if anything I'd like to have seen us create a few more breaks and gaps in the 2 games we have played but I still think we look rusty and we have had a big turnaround in playing staff, maybe the most of the top clubs so it will take time, just hope our attack hasnt suffered too much with the losses.

Bowman needs regular rugby if he is going to progress. If hes not going to start he needs to be loaned out.

Cherryholmes Loan at the start of last season was a great move for him, he came back a better and more confident player having had a run of first team rugby

Spot on, it did bug me why they didnt do this last season, he needs weekly gametime, we know he's a talent but we might be sitting on a real gem here and wont know until he's tested for 80 minutes each week. |

I would not have thought they need loanimg out anywhere that is the point of having the new Under 23s , they are also allowed to play 3 players over the age for the purpose of bringing players back to fitness etc.
