| Looks like he is more for the Reserve side and being groomed for the future-which is a good thing. If he gets in to the first 17 excellent. For me I see Joe as a Fringe player now but hopefully will push his way in to the first team either this year or the future. This is the thing about having a reserve team in that such players as Joe get regular game time and not just sat around like many were last year.

| Joe Chandler is a young forward with real potential.
He was probably overplayed a little in his firzt season in first grade and this reduced his impact in the second half of the season.
He did play a lot at prop in the Rhinos academy but to do so now would be a real waste IMO. His main attribute is his mobility, ability to run good lines and then take a good option once in the clear. At Oldham he was part of a left sided attack that was our mainstay all season and contributed bucket loads of tries. Mick Fogerty got 19 outside Joe in the left centre, often as a result of one of his busts.
By reputation he does work hard in the Gym and he has a decent size frame to put some bulk on but occasionally he could get brushed off by bigger forwards at NL 1 level so Calland's comments are a little strange.

| Re: the mention of Wayne Kerr further up the page
From reading the Oldham forum on t'other site, seems he hasn't signed a contract for next season yet, I think he;d be worth a punt
