I was just thinking how early have some clubs finished their season this year - look at Dewsbury they played their last match on August 15th and won't play again in a 'proper' match (not friendlies) until next February?

Most clubs who did not make the play offs will have finished the weekend before the Challenge Cup Final so again won't have any matchday income for 5 months apart from Friendlies.
That must make it very hard for clubs, is it due to the Internationals or if not why?

The season starts in mid-winter and finishes, for most teams, half-way through summer. Crazy. I do feel that the start / finishing dates should be moved forward for non-SL clubs.

Bradford's season ended in May.
