Desperate Des will walk out in a couple of years and then sadly for the Fans its back to being a small club struggling to stay in the Championship. Your crowds are down by a few hundred this year as well-which will not please Desperate Des.

Read the previous posts answered that one already...is that all you have against Barrow as its all you lot seem to go on about. Its a bit desperate isn't it? We are one of the clubs that would remain self sufficient without Des and as for struggling, again I think you should look at your own structures! As I recall you were the club struggling to survive in the Championship not Barrow.

Wthout Desperate Des Barrow would not even be in the Championship! You think Barrow would be where they are without Desperate Des on crowds of 600-700? And is this not a Fax forum anyway and I do not believe we just talk aboout Barrow. The reason Fax, Widnes and Fev fans have a little go at Barrow is due to some of the fans seeming to think they are the best thing and deserve to be in SL and everybody else should bow down to them. Also the antics of your wierdo chairman do make it a bit of fun to laugh at Barrow.

Why does it bother you so much where we are today? Would you not be in the position you were it not for the backing of your BOD, sponsors and local council? Your crowds are not exactly SL are they? As for the thinking we are the best thing and should be in SL we would be if P&R was still in affect (we won the league last year just incase you forgot), however we dont go around saying we are the best we leave that to you lot and Widnes. Perhaps you should go and eat your tea when your mother calls you instead of posting utter garbage.

I can't see what the fuss is here. What does it matter?? No-one knows the fiscal health of the Barrow club other than it's BoD - something which is said almost verbatim on here when the financial state of Halifax is discussed!
I really don't care about any other club other than my own - other than the hope that the financial health of all championship clubs remain stable.

Why the fuss about Des Johnson baffles me. All our clubs survive because people, directors, companies, in one way or another put money into the clubs. Funding a championship club on gates alone is NOT possible. The game needs sponsors, business backing and/or people to "inverst" in the game.

Barrow did the business last year. C'est la vie. They had the best squad! The fact that their chairman may or may not have spent the largest amount of money to recruit a squad capable of winning the GF is a spurious argument.

Exactly, it's the same old chesnut you get with football 'fans' who claim Man City/Chelsea are 'buying the premiership'...well, aye, isn't everyone? I know RL is supposed to be on a bit more of a secure footing as it were than football but the pricipal is, money and backing helps win you things and it's just sport.

I do not like Des because of the type of person he is. Every team to a certain degree needs money men-even Halifax, Hunslet, Keighley etc. Some people are able to put more in than others. But for a Chairman to go in to a Changing room ranting and raving like he has done at various places and his actions when a St.Helens player was injured, does not make me wish him or anything he is involved with much success. He comes across as an arrogant stuck up dick. He has obviously earnt and worked hard to get where he has. But there is no excuse for the way he acts at times. And Barrow like Fev deserved to win the League last year and am glad for the normal fan as its been a while since either team has had much to shout about.
