I like Journos, Dave Fletcher and James Roberts are OK blokes who know their stuff, but you're spot on about the publicizing of all bad news bar their own.
I remember they quietly sold the shut down of the print room at the Courier - which was a massive blow to Calderdale - as a positive step in improving 'your' Courier in a small corner of page 2, whereas any other company closing a plant down in the area would be front page news.
They also consistently look for the negative. I think it's because either the young journos are trying to make a name for themselves; not enough happens in Calderdale to actually justify our own paper (Castleford and similar places tend to have local weeklies), or they just think everyone wants to read things 'tabloid' sensationalist style.
Either way it's a great shame as they have been marvelous for the Club in the last 25 years, but that was down to the people who ran it and they are now gone.
