I am indeed very well known to the club. I'm a fan. Have been since 1984. I am indeed annoyed - i would have liked to have started off this season unbeaten to date.
You mention Man Utd and Alex Ferguson. he joined United in November 1986. In 1988 they finished second in the table. Won nowt. In 1989 they finished 11th and won nowt. In 1990 United's league form nose dived further. Lost 5–1 in an away defeat against Manchester City. Following this and an early season run of six defeats and two draws in eight games, a banner declaring "Three years of excuses and it's still crap. Ta ra Fergie." was displayed at Old Trafford, and many journalists and supporters called for Ferguson to be sacked.
Surely United should have sacked Fergie at that point?
But you're right - we're not United. We are little old Halifax - making our way in difficult times. As paying fans we also have the right to criticise poor performances. All i'm saying is - look at the long game. 2015 is our real target year. We need more money, we need a youth set up and we need bigger attendances. That's the real hurdle here. I still believe we have the right people at board level to ensure that we give it our best shot. The current hurdle cannot be overcome by the coach alone. Whether Matt is here or not - the players have to look at themselves and their recent performances because they are better than that.
Good luck today Fax - i am unable to attent due to a bad ankle injury but i'll be there in spirit. Here's to blind faith
