Quote faxlad66="faxlad66"In all honesty it just shows the state of the game in this country that we cant highlight an obvious successor. We have been saying it for 25 years that we dont develop enough of our own players and coaches. Its important that we learn from the Aussies that come over but once again we are left short. At domestic level every time expansion gets involved the teams are full of Australians, nobody has the bottle to say....Hey! start at the bottom and develop your own players and we will help you along, its alway a quick fix for super league. The bottom line is SKY MONEY!'"
It doesn't really matter who coaches the National team in my opinion, although I'd love it to be one of our own, but only if we're to be successful.
The problem lies with self centred clubs like Bradford Bulls, L-Strange, Menzies, Morrison and now Matt Orford ????
How can the future of the game be successful, this is one club who embraced summer rugby, rode on the back of their good times and fair play to them for that, but have had to move stadiums trice in recent years but how many Bradford kids are in their starting line up ?
The game at top level has become Australian-ised and it's a load of rubbish.
Leeds & Saints can boast some home grown talent and the Hull clubs and then you have to start thinking a bit don't you ?
Wakey recently won the academy final against Wiganbut they're in a right state again, poor stadium, financial worries and players being shipped out, I just hope they don't go and ruin their own kids by chucking them in at the deep end too soon.
Let's stop the foreign invasion and develop our kids, it's not too late.
Hell, we've even got a third rate referee from France in our top comp who somehow manages to get four nations fixtures and make a right mess of, I know loads of kids reffing the game now, what are their prospectsfor the future, are they also faced with competition with Welsh, French & dare I say it a Scottish ref for the top spots ?
National coach ????? We've got more to worry about than that when the players aren't good enough.
