Am delighted we have signed Branighan, but gutted about losing Govin.
I am slightly concerned about the balance of the squad now should either Black or Branighan get injured. In Gleeson, Penky and Beswick, we've got 3 great hookers of which Penky and Beswick can provide cover at half back. However, Govin is a better half back and can also provide effective cover at hooker.
I know it is a very difficult decision for the coaching staff, and they have budgets to play with but if you had to pick 3 players to keep from Penky, Govin, Gleeson and Beswick, which is the one you would release? Ideally I'd keep all 4, but if I had to make a choice I think Govin has to stay being the best half back.
Good luck Mick. I am sure you will come back and haunt us next season.
When Gov has been fit, he's been a brilliant player for us. Great to watch with ball in hand, always asking questions of the opposition's defence. Good luck Mick, stay healthy.
Sad to see you go Mick, thanks for your efforts, we never got the chance to see enough of you to see you at your best.
I understand why the club have let you go, all the best and I hope your injuries are over and you play for many seasons without any further problems.

Been on long shifts for past couple of days so missed all the news as it came out. Gutted about Mick TBH. Really thought that he would get another year but the club does have to look ahead. Good luck Mick with the rest of your career, im sure that you will always be welcome and respected at Halifax. Great player but just unlucky with injuries.
