Am delighted we have signed Branighan, but gutted about losing Govin.

I am slightly concerned about the balance of the squad now should either Black or Branighan get injured. In Gleeson, Penky and Beswick, we've got 3 great hookers of which Penky and Beswick can provide cover at half back. However, Govin is a better half back and can also provide effective cover at hooker.

I know it is a very difficult decision for the coaching staff, and they have budgets to play with but if you had to pick 3 players to keep from Penky, Govin, Gleeson and Beswick, which is the one you would release? Ideally I'd keep all 4, but if I had to make a choice I think Govin has to stay being the best half back.

I hope he re-signs for Leigh and helps them come back up to the Championship, mainly because I don't want him coming back to haunt us next season!

i agree.we also have young bowman who has to be given a chance
sooner rather than later.

We will also have the option of Stan playing at Stand Off if the need arose.

Good luck to Mick in the future, he's been very unfortunate with Injurys but when fit has always done a good job in the Blue and White, Good Luck in the future

I'd forgetten about Young Bowman, so no doubt Matt is prepared to give him a go, which is to be encouraged.

Am gutted about Govin though. His try on Sunday was a belter, and delivered when we really needed it.

Could be joining Smithy at Swinton.

When Gov has been fit, he's been a brilliant player for us. Great to watch with ball in hand, always asking questions of the opposition's defence. Good luck Mick, stay healthy.
