I agree with the licence system, just not the teams that were granted one!

I don't agree with it at all, the whole thesis of sport is that all teams should have the chance to progress to the highest level. If a team wins a division they are crowned champions and move up, like they do in almost every sport with numerous divisions.

The advent of the license system has ruined that idea and the way the RFL conducted it just proved what a stupid process it all was.

Matt Calland has done a great job. I remember folk getting on John Pendlebury's back in '97 when .... after having a trully horrendous World Club tour down under .... we lost 14-12 at home to Paris at Thrummers, you could hear a pin drop and there were some nastiness directed at Pendlebury. 12 months later he was God.

Matt's guided this club to 2nd and we've seen some fantastic stuff, including that epic at Cas. I know folk have the right to their own opinions ... of course they have ... but anybody who thinks Matt is anything but a very good coach has the brains of a rocking horse!

The drop in form could prove to be an important experience for Calland to gain in his early days of being a coach. Remember though, everyone makes mistakes, that's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils.

Licence system?
The death of RL as we knew it. It means a chosen few decide on the fate of the future of all the clubs involved (a lot) rather than natural progression by the rise and fall based on performance on the field.

You ask Burnley football fans about P&R they will tell you how good it is to still have it, yer its not good when you fall down the leagues but look at AFC Wimbledon, a new club now one league away from being back in the football league pyramid.

By the same reasoning, and by reading some of your previous posts, you are the type of reason why some people put rubbers on the end of their peckers.
