I don't think the fact that a rapidly declining rival team has acquired 4 mediocre players should be of any great concern. As has been alluded to be others the lovely des appears to have to have adopted an amendment of the old supermarket maxim "pile 'em high sell 'em cheap"

Allan-Has Potential but never really done much except get caught drug taking!
Helliwell-Has failed really to do much and why he went to Oldham.
Coyle-Who? No name who has done nothing
Roberts-Can be a great player-but very ill disciplined and inconsistant
Ballard-Average Championship player at best.

To be honest not one really stands out as a good SL or Championship player. Most have potential but have never really shown that they are top quality players. Barrow or Des just seems to sign any half decent player and thinks they can do a job. The one player they have signed that is quality is Rooney and he is worth spending money on but the rest do not impress at all.

Seems to Be Big Problems at Oldham at the minute, but with Bill Quinn seemingly taking his Bat and Ball (and chequebook) home. players were bound to leave.

A rumour on .org that Quinn is going to join the board up at barrow.

Oldham will certainly miss Ballard, he's a points machine in that league for them.

Without Bill Quinns input Oldham will struggle, theyre crowds are usually around 800, And with talk of a New Stadium for the Football club they may even find themselves Homeless once again in the next few years. Tough Times ahead but the RFL won't care as they are a "Traditional Club"
