Called in at the Shay today and was surprised to see that the roof is now in situ for the whole length of the stand and was informed that this is permanent.
The builders have apparently decided that they can complete the development without the need to remove any of the roof as originally contemplated. The hospitality area is now taking shape and this has been achieved with pitchside cranes.
Things are already looking better and gives renewed hope for a successful completion of the works by the autumn.
It's amazing how the rebuild can be altered now that it's the Council picking up the bill and the builders are desperate for work. I wonder just how much of the design plan wasn't needed
