Whilst the Council ‘stressed’ they would not sell to the highest bidder, they made a lot of hot air saying nothing positive moving forward. The end of the Financial year is only a couple of months away, realistically no concrete decisions can be put in place so it will drag on as before.

To be fair the lady from the council who responded to the question relating to the Shay spoke coherently, and in my opinion fairly - would prefer for the ground to be taken over jointly by the 2 clubs, which should in the long term benefit both, both financially and security of tenure. Unfortunately the practicalities of getting the 2 boards to work together on the purchase, and perhaps even more challenging the ongoing running of the ground doesn't make me feel too optimistic.
