Quote BiginJapan1970="BiginJapan1970"yes I believe Hock was provoked from the video I saw.
He came around the back of the melee, picked a target (who had his back to hock) and then grabbed him from behind and dragged him to the floor aggressively and certainly not in a way as just breaking up the melee. Then the swinton number 20 grabbed hocks arm to calm the situation and then Hock let rip with 5 or 6 heavy blows/uppercuts to the head whilst Ridyard held him down.
In Ridyards defence he was trying to break it up as he is not that type of player, but inadvertently by holding the player down, he was giving hock a barrage of free shots at the swinton player. I also note that the swinton player he assaulted is a winger and Hock likes wingers and half backs as his opponents because he is such a cowardly and s**thouse.
Charlie take off your rose tinted sunglasses and stop defending the undefendable. He is a disgrace to the game and should be banned before he does some serious damage to a player. Lets hope the RFL find a pair and ban this thug the game does not need him and nor does your club.'"
BIJ you seem very well informed about the Swinton game , I was there , but haven't seen the recordings,be.ieve me though whatever Gaz Hock is or you suggest he is,he is NO coward,Coaches and players target him every week, but for most of this season both he and Acton have kept their cool, the Swinton game seemed like a free for all on both sides,as I said Higson and Butt the guys who started it have been given a No Charge verdict.
As for myself?I try not to wear rose tinted specs, and always give my opinion, sometimes I'm right , sometimes wrong, but I won't have a go at a guy for defending himself, or if he is targeted by opposing players, it used to happen with Tim Street and Tony Cotterell a few years ago.
Again they will be dealt with today and probably banned, but we have a big enough squad to take in our stride and keep moving.Take care,I'm at the Shay on Sunday..
