As you've seen above, the right are all about triggering remainers and winding up liberals.

I think the government have actually missed a trick with that Brexit 50p. They should have issued it as a new denomination, maybe 60p, to cover for the fall in value of the pound on Friday.

So you believe Johnson when he says no additional paperwork or checks for goods between Britain, NI and Eire or was he just making it up.

We'll find out, you know, once it has happened. All these doom mongers talking about what they think might possibly maybe happen...

Aye, there’s no point in discussing an unknowable future.

And the past is gone, there’s nothing we can do about it - we just have to get over it and move on.

The present is so fleeting it is barely worth mentioning.

Nothing exists and therefore nothing matters. That’d look nice on a coin, if coins existed.

icon_lol.gif I like that.
However, the pound is creeping up in value against the Euro so, maybe it should have been a 47p coin, which would make it harder for all those nasty foreigners to work out.
I woner when our "star" gets removed from the EU flag and whether we will get the bill icon_surprised.gifops:

You miss my point,
There is every point discussing the possibilities of an unknowable future, so long as all sides accept that we are discussing the UNKNOWABLE and refrain from passing opinion as fact. Indeed, the past is gone, but we should learn from it, either repeating things that were successful or avoiding the repeat of mistakes. The present is fleeting, and priceless, in our present we are creating our yesterdays and shaping our futures, NOW is the most important time we have.

A lot of things exist, if only as theories. I read yesterday that Einstein's theory of Relativity is being challenged, again, like this is a bad thing. Some people forget that theories are offered to promote debate, not preached as fact.

So. in theory, leaving the EU, to me, is going to work out. I never thought it would but seeing the way the EU (NOT EUROPE) is behaving makes me believe we are better off out of it. The EU (NOT EUROPE) are demanding fishing rights and the ECJ having a say, that isn't what the majority were expecting.

The EU (NOT EUROPE) isn't really the EU at all, it is Germany, France and to some extent, Italy, who are making it as tough as possible. They are petrified that a successul exit from the EU for the UK will encourage other EU members (or their electorate) to want the same.

Interesting points.

I don’t really see the behaviour of the EU being surprising, and I don’t see how they can be blamed for the unrealistic expectations of an (about to be) third country.

The EU can’t demand access to UK waters for fishing or a role the ECJ. But conversely, the UK can’t demand unfettered access to EU markets for the fish it catches (or its financial services). They all become tradeables in the negotiation.

While I can see that these ‘unexpected challenges’ might make you less well-disposed to the EU, I don’t understand why they make you more confident it will work out well.

I agree there’s a strong incentive for the EU to ensure that Brexit isn’t a roaring success that leads to a rush for the exits, leading to its disintegration. Equally, they don’t want it to be catastrophic, as they don’t want the blowback. None of which is surprising.

Surprise surprise Farage will keep his money cow the Brexit party going. The way it was formulated was to have the members contribute financially but have no say in how it was run or it’s policies.

Grimsby which voted for Brexit now wants to be exempt from the consequences

As you sow, so shall you reap !

The reality of Brexit will soon start hitting home and it will be the working class that pay.

Do they really think that. When it comes to a choice between the city or Britain’s fishing industry the Tories will protect fisher men.
