This wasn’t a normal election, to have a strong government it needs a strong opposition, unfortunately we have neither.

That said its surprising how many times whilst in opposition a party moans about a sitting Governments policy and then when said opposition gets elected doesn’t change those policies.

So they’ve won’t be concerned if we’re no longer interested in buying German Car’s, Spanish fruit and Veg, French wine, Irish meat, etc? As we can get the same or equivalent from elsewhere.

Concerned maybe but they are the #1 trading bloc on the planet and have far greater bargaining power than a single country. It can take up to a decade to negotiate a trade deal with a friendly country..... Much longer if you want favourable terms..... The moment a hard brexit happens UK products get hit with major tarrifs whilst s will Always buy BMWs regardless of the cost.....and as for Spanish fruit...... Where else are you going to get it from?


Edit. On the simplistic idea of taxing German car companies..... Did anyone see the Donald trump v BMW on John Oliver? Trump at a rally said was going to tax BMW...... The rally was 100km away from the largest BMW plant in the world employing 10,000 Americans..... Simplistic politics got you to vote leave...... Real politics is giving you the butt hurt

Yes they are on sale everywhere in the UK.

You can buy Pinot Noir from central otago at Sainsburys cheaper than I can here... Same with lamb at M&S..... Cheaper for you than us here..... Because of the trade deals with the EU that NZ has...... Once you hard brexit you lose that discounted rate.... Prices rise......so you buy British.... Which for the lamb is fine.... But not the red wine

I think you will find we will get better trade deals than the 450 million people remaining in the EU because we are British.

But now believe we should just get on with it, and until the EU feels we are getting serious by negotiating with other non EU countries they hold all the cards, I’ve just had quick look at the label on my Hi Viz jacket it says made in China, no doubt imported because the EU has a trade agreement with China.

Well I’m assuming someone in the government has a number for Mr China ring him up and ask him does he now want to agree the same or improve a trade deal direct with us? The EU may spit its dummy out with you but we’re not just looking at Hi Viz jackets we could be looking at steel imports, what fruit and veg do you grow…. Oh and do you make French wine?

I believe China & EU trade 1 Billion Euros worth a day. Trade deals can take 10 years to negotiate. Can you explain why China will give better deals with a desperate little cold island stuck out in the North Sea?
