Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.:icons077e_files/5454-3678dentheman-msnicons.jpg

Quote: wrencat1873 "Interesting use of "never"

The Tories, despite having a 20% lead in the polls when May "changed her mind", again and called an election, couldnt muster an overall majority and had they not jumped in bed with the Unionists, they couldnt form a government.
We will all have another chance to vote within the next 12 months so, we'll see what happens then.
Maybe The Tories will get their act together or, perhaps Labour will gain power.
What we have is a very, very fragile government, a slowing economy and the EU hierarchy laughing at us, I'm sure that Mrs May is very proud of her efforts
The Tories were a lot closer forming a government than Labour who would have had to get into bed with the SNP a party who don't actually want to be part of the union - it would be funny if it weren't so tragic. Get a throne for Queen Nicola icon_biggrin.gif

Yet the DUP who are a party who support Brexit are representing a part of the Uk who did not support Brexit will get a seat at he table whilst the SNP a party that opposed Brexit and represent a part of the UK that opposed Brexit and have three and half times more seats than the DUP will have no say in the Brexit negotiations.

It would be funny if it was not so tragic.

It's politics , Similarily UKIP had a sizeable % of the population vote for them in 2015 , but didn't actually win a seat

Just the way it is , the Tories got more votes than last time , but less seats

Labour should have won more seats then this would not have been an issue for you - hopefully we will get another election as this was far from ideal - May has to go and you cannot see Labour being able to offer anything more?

I think you may find this statement to be wrong.
Yes, they will have to make some changes but, life will go on without the UK being part of the EU, just as it will for The UK being on the outside.
Mind you, with a "softer" Brexit now very likely, perhaps we will still make some kind of "contribution" to remain in the single market ??

As for the "laughing", I'm pretty sure they are pi$$ing themselves at the thought of negotiating with Mrs "shall I, sharn't I" May.
I described her as a "wind bag", not long after she took the reins and she's living up to that.
She has no substance and shocking political judgement and the country was asked to trust her with all of our futures.
I dont think that Corbyn would be any good either but, that's what "we" voted for.
They ought to put Farage in charge of the negotiations a046.gif

The DUP might get a seat at the table but what did being in a coalition do for the Lib Dems apart from make Nick Clegg look like Cameron's tea boy? They've never really recovered from then.

There'll be a world of difference between dealing with the lib dems and the DUP. I've not got much time for the DUP's policies, but they won't go into this with the tragi-comic naivety of Nick Clegg.

The Tories will be the screwees in this relationship.

From a short-term national interest POV, a Con-lib alliance for a moderate compromise Brexit would be a decent idea. That bridge was well and truly burned though.

Although I dont like the bloke and dont agree with his politics, I do believe he would fight "our" corner and he certainly wouldnt take any crap.

Also, with Mrs May's "failed" election and the likelihood of losing valuable negotiating time, whilst the Tories have a leadership election AND the possibility of another general election, there wont be much time, relatively speaking, to sort out a deal.
Someone like Farage could do the job and with a "no deal" looking most likely, he would have nothing to lose.

It's all a bit of a shambles though.
Lions lead by donkeys springs to mind.

Corbyn was never in the game though and started from 20 points back in the polls.
I was supposed to be a walk over.

To gain a "winning draw" versus a political no hoper, is not exactly vindication is it d040.gif

This time next week, Corbyn will still be leader of his party, what about Mrs May ?

Is that a good thing for Labour - he lost by 60 seats, most leaders would have done the honourable thing? How Labour see this as some kind of victory defies belief. That is only eclipsed by Queen Nicola no wonder they want to be bedfellows. icon_biggrin.gif
