| Did you see the BP s in the EU turning their backs? Even Sinn Fein have the decency not to attend a Parliament they don't believe in.

As they are "representing" the British people, could we withhold their salaries

If we weren't already being perceived by the rest of the world as insular, small-minded and petty - we sure are now.
These people are a fcking disgrace - it's all a game - with clickbait social media content about the iPads they've been given, the torturous journey to Strasbourg and the supposed lack of democracy of the EU parliament; all while trousering a big salary and a load of expenses. And this, to a large swathe of the UK population, feels like representation and 'winning.'
It's beyond embarrassing - get me out of here.

There must be 30% of the population who will be proud of their actions. Which is so depressing I struggle to put it into words. As with Trump, there is virtually nothing the BP could do to make the 30% change their minds & see the truth. 40 years of drip fed lies & poisoning. You do feel like giving up.

My only hope now is that Scotland sees sense and votes Yes, and stays in the EU; then those of us who are so inclined can arrange a mass exodus, leaving England to its new gammon overlords.

Our daughter is there. I love the place. If it wasn't for the fact we had just moved my mum close by we would move now.

Yeah nice place but a huge burden on the English taxpayer. Scotland is 8.2% of the UK population but gets 9.3% of the UK state spending and only contributes 7.8% of tax revenue. Nice work if you can get it. They need to stop whinging and realise which side their bread is buttered.

Full stats for GB and NI, and the individual English regions at the link below. It appears their bread is very much buttered in London and the southeast - see also, nearly all the rest of us. Is Cambridge East England? i’m struggling to imagine Ipswich and Yarmouth are doing that much better than the rest of us.

As has been noted previously, based on other sources, GB’s net contribution to NI is greater than the UK’s to the EU.

| So, with the escalating tensions in the middle east, Jeremy Hunt (PM wannabe) thinks that Britain, instead of asking for help from Trump, as he helped trigger the unrest by pulling out of the Iran Nuclear agreement), wants to form a European "task force" to ensure safe passage of our ship passing through the straits of Hormuz ?
Er, HELLO Jeremy, this is one of the many good reasons for being part of the EU - using our collective power and working together but, you want out ??

| Interesting interview on 5 live on the way home tonight with an EU expert based in Europe. Saying how worried German politicians were about a no deal Brexit. And that no deal was a red line that can't be crossed as far as they are concerned. Think Boris insisting on no deal being an option and actually meaning it may actually bring about the very deal we can agree to. Especially as he is removing virtually all the remainers from his cabinet. At least they will be pulling in the same direction , hopefully.

| An advantage he has over May was that she was trying to deliver Brexit and hold the parliamentary party together.
He seems to be setting up for a General Election and then trying to put the party back together afterwards.
As for delivering Brexit. A deal built on the bones of May’s has the advantage of being quick to put together and being acceptable to the EU... but probably not Parliament. Something completely new... he’s given no indication of what that might be, time is short, and the EU are unlikely to take anything seriously without him being able to demonstrate the backing of parliament... and his majority is tiny and unstable. He knows this and I think he’s setting up to blame the EU for not agreeing a deal and parliament for blocking no deal.
