I also cannot believe that people stood around filming it, has the digital revolution and the need to post every bit of cr@p on to some social media taken over from our sense of decency.

The then atack on Iraq which was unneccessary meant that the west took there eye of the ball and meant that they had lost any moral or political justification for remaining in afghanistan and dragging out an unwinnable war. If the resources and time wasted on Iraq had been spent on afghanistan then the troops would have been home five years or more ago and the level of anger that we now see would not have been there which is the link drwan out in the second interview above.
