| I have a couple of videos I want to crop (cut out background). I've downloaded after effects (something on google said it'l work), but can't seem to figure it out.
Its nothing too professional, just trying to crop a smaller square out, wondered if there was any free software/how to do this.

| I've suddenly (in the last couple of days) started receiving loads of spam to my Yahoo email account. I always used to get about two a day (one for cock pills, the other for dodgy rolexes), but this has jumped up to nine or ten a day. I haven't been on any dodgy websites, at least, no more dodgy than usual, so I'm not sure what's happened. Is there any way I can stop it?

Likely, you or someone else has published your email somewhere lately? Or you've maybe signed up for something (could be quite innocuous).
Either way, as your in Yahoo Mail, I doubt you have much control over spam settings beyond just selecting the emails and clicking "Mark as junk" button, it's supposed to learn to then junk future spam mail (it's not exactly foolproof though, so I wouldn't expect great results).
If it's proper spam (as in viagra, payment rejections, etc) as opposed to marketing (like from amazon or whatever) then there's no point blocking senders either; if you had control you could block IPs but that probably wouldn't help either except for blocking that one (probably) open relay.
Again if you weren't on Yahoo, you could set up reverse DNS checking but I'm massively going O/T now.
I would advise, if the levels of spam are too high that you should move to a decent mail provider with better anti-spam (Gmail) and don't give out or publish the address anywhere.

I have a Gmail account, it's just that I've been using the Yahoo one for so long it would be a hassle informing everyone of the change. I don't think I've given the address to anyone who ought not to have it, and I'm always very careful to tick boxes saying "don't share my details with third parties". Perhaps someone has ignored my wishes. I seem to be getting a lot of unwanted calls on my mobile too...

You're not in Amnesty are you?
Nearly every email campaign I participate seems to coincide with getting lots of spam.
Despots have got earn a living too.

| If you allow gmail to check the mail from the yahoo account and then just get to your emails through gmail then i think the gmail spam filters may get rid of the spam.

That could be quite likely. At work we deal with data businesses and to say they're not exactly honest would be a massive understatement.
Personal data is quite valuable and a lot of businesses will do anything to make quick cash.

It seems that a lot of the 'new' spam is coming from a company called 'Prime Advertisers'. I've emailed them and asked them to remove my details from their database, so hopefully this will have some effect on the amount of junk I receive.
On an unrelated note, my Norton subscription is due to expire in 4 days. Does anyone know of a better (or cheaper) internet security software before I renew.

The great thing about Gmail is you can alter your address.
If your address is fbloggs@gmail.com, and you're registering with some shyster company or other, then you can tell them your email address is fbloggs+shyster@gmail.com. Any mail sent to that address will still get routed to you. A plus sign and then whatever sequence of alphanumerics you want before the @ sign is all you need.
You can alter your address like this as many differnet ways you can think of, allocating a different +... bit to each company you need to give an address to. Then when you get spam you can see which of the fsckers is selling your address without your permission, find out the name of some person in authority from their company website, and subscribe them to BigJuggs magazine with complementary man's size French maid's uniform at their company address.

What version of Windows are you running?
I did a lot of checking around when I upgraded to a Windows 7 machine and settled on Microsoft Security Essentials for AV (free), the built-in Windows firewall, and the occasional scan with an anti-malware tool like Malwarebytes (also free). It's worked perfectly for the last couple of years.

Windows 7.
Edit: Just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. Hopefully they'll do the trick.

I'd agree with that, it's good option for the home user and Malwarebytes is great option for anyone.
