Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - Crap. Only the racist woman made me laugh and that was about three times.

Jack & Jill - Crap. How they got Pacino to do that I'll never know.

Safe House - Can understand why some people said there was no storyline but it was enjoyable none the less.

Quote: dany1979 "Dark Knight Rises

7/10

Can see why this is getting mixed reviews - the weakest of the 3 films by a long way.

Things I didn't like -

The inaudible main villain
The action sequences (just not that good or original)
The length of time spent following commissioner Gorden around the streets of Gotham
The plot
Cat Woman - not as good as Michelle Pfeiffer
The ending - well we didn't see that one coming...
You are kididng right? icon_surprised.gif Anne Hathaway in that Catsuit is possibly one of the greatest sights ever icon_biggrin.gifROOL: She was the definition of sexiness throughout, even when not in the suit. Looks aside i though her character was great, and not one that pandered to Batman - they needed each other, and were both a challenge to each other, abliet in different ways.

I really enjoyed it - people whinged about Bane's voice, i didn't have a problem. As for the ending you saw all those reveals about Bane etc coming? I didn't.

The initial fight between Bane & Batman was brutal. The other less so, but i'm not complaining.

Also my take on the film was also about Gotham's redemption itself with others taking responsibility and doing the right thing as well as Batman.

No I didn't see the reveals about Bane coming but by that point I just didn't really care and I really didn't find the fights brutal at all. How many times did the film need to remind us about the broken auto-pilot...

Good film but better than the first two? no way.

Saw Spiderman on Saturday, slow pacing very frustrating, Garfield is a far better actor in the role than Maguire but just didn't enjoy the film, couple of moments great, the rest...pah.

Saw The Dark Knight Rises last night and I loved it! Personally I thought it was brilliant, and just as good if not better than the others. I guessed certain bits part way through but there where some things I didn't see coming at all. Catwoman was a great character played really well and she was sexy! It was a bit different to the previous 2 films in some ways i think in that I think the plot was a bit thicker and not just all about seeing Batman just beat everyone up and save the day. I wonder if we will see another film on the back of this involving another character?

This whole trilogy has wiped the floor with any other Batman films imo.

Total Recall

Just seen it at pictures today and it one of the best films ive seen for a long time.

Whilst keeping the main characters from the original, the plot is slightly different and theres a nice couple of scene's that play homage to the original.

Colin Farrell takes the lead role well, at times it reminded me of a Bourne genre type film and Kate Beckinsdale looks as lovely as ever in it

TED couple of days ago, massive fan of American Dad and Family Guy, loved this, similar style with the flash backs and little jokes, loved it.

Quote: Horatio Yed "TED couple of days ago, massive fan of American Dad and Family Guy, loved this, similar style with the flash backs and little jokes, loved it.'"

Thought it was ok, not as funny as I'd hoped. Just seemed to try too hard to play on the 'offensive teddy bear' character, I found the constant swearing and crude sexual references actually spoiled the humour at times, the constant stream of profanity diluted its impact and effectiveness. Smaller doses would have worked better for me. Still, enjoyable enough, and as you say the flash-backs and little jokes were worked well. I'd give it 7/10.

On a side note, in front of us in the queue was an elderly gent and his granddaughter of about 10. They thought it was a nice family film involving a living teddy bear - thank god they were stopped and turned away! icon_smile.gif

Other films I've seen recently:

- The Hunger Games - thought this wasn't too bad, considering I've not read the books. The young actors did well and the quirky costumes and contrasts in society worked well. Decent, 7/10.

- Battleship - what a ridiculous, cheesey, stupid, laughable film - but oddly enjoyable as a light-hearted alien shoot-em up - and when the plot takes a hysterical turn about 3/4 in it's clear it shouldn't be taken too seriously. As a serious "film", I'd give it 3/10. As a bit of daft entertainment I'd give it 7/10.

- The Devil Inside - promised so much but failed to deliver, with a disappointingly rushed ending. Not particularly scary A fairly interesting plot delivered in an unoriginal manner, could have been done better. 5/10.

- The Cabin In The Woods - where do I start? Knew very little about this film and found myself baffled for the most, until the final climactic portion of the film where everything goes mental and the plot becomes clear. Original concept, well done for what it is. Enjoyed it for the most. 7/10.

- American Reunion - I knew this had been slated in some quarters but for me it delivered precisely what it promised - a reunion of the original characters, now 13 years older, with all the differences that entails. Don't expect the original American Pie and you'll enjoy it. 7/10.

All men are created equal, some work harder in preseason. -[i:1c45x4hd]Emmitt Smith[/i:1c45x4hd]:

doubt it, the film was meant to loosely be based on Knightfall but Batman's own story is much more like The Dark Knight Returns, in that he has a small army of Bat wannabes (the resistance in Gotham's takeover) and Robin by his side (the cop is already Robin, we just don't find out til the end that he was all along) and then he takes over the Batman's legacy like Nightwing in the books and in TDKreturns Batman is old and calls it a day - the running theme throughout the film is anyone can be a hero, anyone can be the batman, it's not just been left to Robin to look after things but to the rest of the people Batman inspired (Gordon etc.). As much as I like Nolan's series I think the series has been brought to an appropriate end and a spin off risks tarnishing the entire series.

I've probably got some wires crossed there as I'm not the most seasoned of readers but yeah, Nolan will know where to call it a day, hope we see a lot more major films from him though!

Caught this earlier in the year and it's weird but well worth a look at.

rlhttp://www.film4.com/reviews/2005/lemmingrl

Never seen Sidnet Lumet's last ever film but seeing as it's getting a Film4 airing this week it'll get a whirl.
