I thought it was a solid 6/7 out of 10, but not as good as I was hoping it would be.

Watched it today , Very good movie and it's again on film 4 tonight. I didn't think The Avengers was to bad either . It killed a couple of hours .

| Just watched 'Drive'.
Quite simply one of the best films I have ever seen, will never forget the elevator scene.
10/10.

| The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - in a word, brilliant.
A little predictable in terms of storyline, but some outstanding performances from a stellar cast, Judi Dench and Maggie Smith probably being the highlights.

| Watched "we need to talk about Kevin" over the weekend. Very grim subject matter and harrowing in parts but I thought it was really enjoyable and thought-provoking. Tilda Swinton is amazing as Kevins Mum and I cannot believe she wasnt Oscar nominated.
8 out of 10 but dont watch it if you want something light hearted or need cheering up!

The only thing I didn't like about it was the Arty nature of it, Swinton was fantastic.
Watched "Like Crazy" recently and loved it. I like love stories when they have central characters whose relationship is believable as ultimately you end up caring about them much more.
"Man on a Ledge" was entertaining enough.
Finally watched "Shame" which i thought was excellent despite it being very slow. The relationship between Fassbender and Mulligan was superbly acted. Powerful stuff from McQueen.
"Snowtown" I thought was amazing. Dark, chilling, atmospheric, a very uneasy watch. It's quite mesmerising at times and I found the implied violence much more powerful tham the actual violence. Up there with Drive as one of the best i've seen recently.

| Right, three of late
Troll Hunter, Drive and Chronicle
Loved Troll Hunter, I'd imagined a totally different film to how it actually was.
I was imagining a film about secret set of people going out hunting trolls and not the actual angle of Troll Management, I enjoyed it apart from the ending, it just didn't seem plausible because the ministry guy who disagreed to filming seemed so wet and kind of let them get on with it for so long to just think sod it I've had enough, the time they had with any incriminating footage was so long that they could have millions of hard copies.
So good apart from the end 6.5/10
Drive
God the direction and dialogue was doing my head in for the first 30-40 minutes, and the main character was really getting on my nerves. If he'd have been paid by word, it wouldn't have been a big pay day for him.
The thing is though the more the film went on the more the direction actually worked, the more menacing it actually made the lead character and the more I enjoyed it, the elevator scene is brutal as is the motel scene, those scenes felt like the Peter Jackson style of old before Hollywood started giving him a budget.
7.5/10
Chronicle
Firstly I'm getting bored of these first person camera styles, got that out the way BUT I did like the film, I went through the range of emotions of really feeling for the central guy and the crappy hand he'd been dealt with in life to going full circle and being happy with how his story ended.
Loved how they had super powers but could be hurt easily if they didn't concentrate on not getting hurt.
7/10 would have got more but sick of this camera style now.

| Dark Knight Rises
7/10
Can see why this is getting mixed reviews - the weakest of the 3 films by a long way.
Things I didn't like -
The inaudible main villain
The action sequences (just not that good or original)
The length of time spent following commissioner Gorden around the streets of Gotham
The plot
Cat Woman - not as good as Michelle Pfeiffer
The ending - well we didn't see that one coming...
Its a good film but i really did expect more.

Just seen and and really enjoyed it. Where have you read the mixed reviews? The Mail is the only paper I've seen give it a bad review. There're some plot holes in it, but then again its about a crime fighting bat.

The Guardian review is pretty mixed but there are others too.
Did you think it was better than the first two?
I found the first few minutes the most entertaining but the exchanges between Bane and Batman were particularly dull for me.
