So because the leave vote was a higher percentage (just) doesn't make that fact then? Great, we can have another referendum and then have some sensible rules about voting age.
The people who voted out will feel no effects by the time it comes to change.

Yes lets just keep having referendums until the remain side gets the result they want.
Not gonna happen pal, keep wishing...

As it was an advisory referendum there's no constitutional reason why it should be valid, also MP's and the Lords can vote it out, which they should.
We'll see what actually happens in 10 years or so.
And I am no "pal" of yours.

| IMO I think there isn't a politician out there other than Farage who would trigger article 50 right now. It would be political suicide to do so and who would take a gamble on their career? Cameron has said he wont do it and the official leave campaign people have said there is no rush. Whoever succeeds Cameron has to either trigger it and send the economy into probably a depression or risk the wrath of the leave voters and not trigger it at all. Either way the new Prime Minister is between a rock and a hard place. Maybe a third option would be to trigger another referendum. This would while enraging leave supporters give them a bit of time to assess the situation properly. However this may also p**s off the EU as they would want some stability.
As I said, rock and hard place.

Indeed. We're leaving.*
However, the direction we leave hasn't been determined yet and will be subject to democratic influences. Very possibly a general election in the near future, or at least the prospect of one in ~4 years. My preference is one soon, so whoever is negotiating has had their plan subjected to democratic scrutiny. Nobody currently has a mandate for Brexit light and nobody has a mandate for a Full English ClusterFarage.
Pretty much anything could happen. My best guess is that we'll get Brexit light, drawing on support from the significant remain minority, and moderate leavers. The core Leave voter is likely in for a disappointment, if they had hopes for doing much beyond reminding the country they're still here and they're unhappy.
*One minor caveat to that. If the lib dems campaign on a pro-EU platform, make even a limited comeback and hold the balance of power, they could give a not-that-keen-on-Brexit Conservative or Labour party, a way of... exploring all the options. A lot of fury would be directed at the lib dems in this scenario, but not for the most part by people who might vote for them in any case.
Basically, the democratic will of the people should not be overturned or amended - unless by the democratic will of the people. And that doesn't require a second referendum.

It should be valid because it is 'a once in a generation Vote'...'no going back' which is what we were told. Anyone with the balls to veto that now will create mayhem, but we will see.

Intelligent use of language, as expected for pointless people who cannot have a debate. I hope brexit ruins your pension and you can keep supporting the BNP UKIP agenda. When did you last do a days work, or pay your own rent?

Not answering the question about work/rent?
Keep the insults coming, you're just embarassing yourself.
And the word is "proven", not proved...

But we've been told lots of things during this shameful period in British politics - none of which are turning out to be true; that the NHS would be showered with money, that the borders would be closed to EU migrants, and that economic (so called) experts didn't know what they were talking about. So I guess there's precedent for creating mayhem - that's what we're experiencing right now.
Fwiw, I think Mild Rover has it about right - there is no mandate for the Brexit that you'll actually get rather than the one you were promised - which you definitely won't get - so it wouldn't be beyond the pale for a general election to be called to achieve that mandate; the difficulty of that of course is that the Tories would lose, thereby spoiling Boris' jolly wheeze to have a crack at the PM job.
The Lib-Dems may well hold the key to salvaging what at present, is a total disaster.

Quite right it is going to rumble on and on. Lets all be honest, nobody knows how it is going to end up it is all guess work and speculation.
I'm Pretty certain there won't be a second referendum though but we will have to see.
