Now you're talking.
I can picture her now, dancing away in a little short skirt in the TOTP'studio to that record.
I can categorically state there was no sexxual allure for me involving the grocers daughter.
She was a ugly outside as she was inside.
Little wonder that Dennis had to be loaded with G&T's before he used to have a bit of 'how's your father' with the dragon.

Quite. I was not influenced by the former because I don't like either his music or his haircut; and I've never heard of the latter.

The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.: |
|
| No real surprises here, and from the usual suspects.
Thatcher was exactly what the country needed.
Or maybe you would actually enjoy watching rubbish pile up in the streets, have all your power cut at the will of the unions, even not being able to take your phone out and replace it with another?
The Unions were destroying the country. Thatcher saved it.
You can debate all you like about her methods, the speed of the turnaround etc but there is absolutely no doubt that she was vital for Britain.

If it was a private, privately funded funeral, I'd agree. That millions of pounds of taxpayers' money will be spent on the thing gives people every right to protest.

I think it's the least we can do to honour the great lady. Let's show the world a bit of class, reserve and dignity.

She never worried about other peoples dignity in life. Why should anyone worry about her dignity in death?

| Conclusive proof that most of you on this thread don't know what you're talking about.
rlhttp://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/politics/4880665/margaret-thatcher-best-pm-ahead-of-churchill.htmlrl
I was fairly disheartened by all the bile spewed out over the last couple of days but then this reputable article puts everything in perspective. Those that loved her, loved her not as much as their dinner. Those that hated her, hated her more than the devil. After all, 11 years in power tells it's own success story. Britain loves Maggie in it's own quiet, reflective and restrained way.

| Dave Whelan Wigan chairman shows he is in touch with reality
Whelan said he could not understand why large sections of the population, especially in the north of England, did not want to mark her death.
I hope they get relegated for him being such a knob

It was a bit of an odd statement.
I can totally see why some people would think Thatcher was bad for the country. They are wrong, but that's mainly due to lack of intelligence and/or knowledge on their part.

Do history? Some of us lived it, cockle. Which is why we're immune to your particular line of revisionist bullcrap.

The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.: |
|
| The most amusing thing about some posts on this thread is that they somehow see Thatcher as being a figurehead for the rich elite, somehow stamping on the working class.
They couldn't be more wrong.
Thatcher was all about breaking down so called "class barriers". Opportunity for all replaced "the old boys networks".
Of course the Socialists were terrified of this (as were some members of the Tory party to be fair).
If working class people were given opportunity, and a route to a more affluent future, they may not vote for a monkey with a red rosette. Given a monkey had better policies than the Labour party at the time this was a real worry.
Labour has a vested interest in keeping the status quo. It is terrified of the removal of the working class. Maggie on the other hand encouraged it.
Now of course not all of the working class wanted take the leap. They wanted a nice safe job in a Nationalised industry. What they didn't appreciate was that their job was effectively paid for by other members of society and was not needed. A very simple concept but one that many on here still cannot grasp.

No need for the patronising tone "pickle". Some of us also lived through it.
Presumably you also "lived" the power cuts, the sh*t piling up in the street, the dead not being buried, the continuous tag of "the sick man of Europe"
Or do you have a selective memory?
