Quote: cadoo "There is a sort of poetic justice in all this that BoJo is tasked now with reaping what ye sow.

A deal could pass through parliament BTW. Caroline Flint on the Marr show Sunday said her and her 26 colleagues (who signed a letter to JC calling for support of their very strong leave constituencies) if a deal was presented that was an improvements on TM's they would give BoJo the votes to pass it through. That would be enough by my reckoning to rule over the rebel Tory MPs.'"

Aye, watching him fail would be quite amusing if it wasn’t us he was failing.

I think an improved deal might mean different things to different MPs. Would he be willing to drop any of May’s red lines? Even if he was, there’s very little time for a significant revision before he’s promised to hit the metaphorical button.

If he’s not, then what? He’s going to do it on force of personality and chutzpah?

Quote: Mild Rover "Believe in Britain, believe in Boris!
I don't like to give creepy little weirdo Rory Stewart any credit for anything, other than perhaps his spectacular inability to tie a tie - but his "Believe in the bin" analogy was frighteningly accurate; Boris Johnson's suggestion that optimism and belief will win the day, is the same level of fantasy politics as Geoffrey Boycott and his ilk, who never fought in a war, saying that "we" won the war, so we'll survive Brexit.

Bring on a Johnson premiership, quickly followed by a GE; he's a gift to Labour.

If you are quoting Jimmy Anderson on Reginald Perrin, it is;
[iWreckers of law and order. Communists, Maoists, Trotskyists, neo-Trotskyists, crypto-Trotskyists, union leaders, Communist union leaders, atheists, agnostics, long-haired weirdos, short-haired weirdos, vandals, hooligans, football supporters, namby-pamby probation officers, rapists, papists, papist rapists, foreign surgeons - headshrinkers, who ought to be locked up, Wedgwood Benn, keg bitter, punk rock, glue-sniffers, "Play For Today", Clive Jenkins, Roy Jenkins, Up Jenkins, up everybody's, Chinese restaurants - why do you think Windsor Castle is ringed with Chinese restaurants?[/i
But you aren't smart enough.

Your ban over Garbutt? Same old Sun/Mail childish slogans without an ounce of independent evidence to back it up. How is it outside the Old Bailey today?

I was Born in the UK , to parents and siblings all born in the Republic of Ireland. I was sent to school in Dublin and then served an apprenticeship, before returning to the UK where I lived until 2008. I consider myself Irish and have never supported England/Britain in any sport, but I have always had a sincere admiration for the British spirit........until recently.
I have been back to blighty a number of times since I moved to NZ and have watched from afar, aghast at what is happening to a Nation that used to be admired by all others. The Brexit vote had little to do with the EU, but was more of a generational declaration of war on what was rightly conceived as broken political system........in part caused by Banks being bailed out and Pensioners receiving little benefit from the savings they had worked hard for......it was a brilliant piece of marketing, in that somehow, Muslims and Immigrant workers, along with imaginary refugees took the blame for Goldman Sachs & Lehman Bros et al butchering the markets in 2008.......
......but the saddest part is that not one of those people who voted for Brexit will admit they were duped. Why? Because they don't believe they were....they still believe that 1,000,000 polish electricians are to blame for their 1% return on their savings, the freezing of their pensions and the NHS not giving them all the care and meds they need.........
....and the result is, Boris will be elected PM by 150,000 daily Mail readers.
To be clear.......Boris is a fate worse than Trump.....and believe me, the Americns have just show Britain who is the bitch in their special relationship.
Good luck....I feel you're really going to need it.
