Erm, they use (or used to) G4S up to the end of last season, as far as I'm aware they won't be doing it next season.
Part of the issue is (and I'm not excusing G4S here) is NUFC had a core of part time stewards numbering about 250 who covered the season between them, the number of stewards LOCOG have requested and the shifts meant that the regular crew shrunk to a handful in reality, G4S just wouldn't invest in employing and retaining the staff, they expected them to train for free, travel for free and more importantly sign off if they were claiming or take leave from their jobs without giving them a guarantee of hours/pay. |

And in that one piece of information, you've pretty much summed up so much of what is going on at present, and why the country remains in recession. |

I see that 38 Degrees are scaring the Corporate sponsors one-by-one.
First McDonalds, then Coca Cola ... changing thier minds and not offshoring the profits to avoid tax from their monopoly sales at the Olympics.
Amazing what a bit of organisation and publicity can do.

If I remember right, the current management on the SJP contract were TUPE'd over when NUFC went for a contractor rather than doing it in house.
The come with a decent reputation and I don't know of any complaints steward wise, I also understand the same people will be running the contract next season under their own company.

Indeed.
Massive traffic chaos (two-hour delays on some major roads), confusion over the Olympic lanes, trains that can't stop at the Stratford station because it's too hot, arrests for vandalism by custard, graffiti artists who haven't done anything illegal for years arrested and bailed over to keep them from doing things they were unlikely to do, businesses unable to open or operate ...
And the Games haven't even started.
