If you're ever down this way Sally, I'll take you for a trip on the boat. With your skills we'd clean up

Quote: Dally "One way to cut the benefits bill would be to only allow State welfare, housing benefits, health care to those born in the UK, those who have lived and worked here for 16 consecutive years, those who have been "invited" here as refugees from distaster, etc and those from countries with reciprocal arrangements of equivalent generosity for UK people residing there (eg EU countries).

That would seem fair, reasonable and popular to me.'"

I wouldn't get a penny or have my joint replacments or health care on the NHS then if this was the case icon_sad.gif I wasn't born here and neither had I 16 consecutive years before I became ill, but I did work a full time and two part time jobs before I had to give them all up, paying more tax on my second two jobs than my main job. Just like most of the Tory policies, ill though out.

If you think people decide to have children simply to gain access to child benefit, then you are stupid. Sorry but there's no other word for it.

Not "just" child benefit.........a free house and other associated benefits too.

If you think that some people DON'T have kids for this reason, then you are stupid AND deluded.

Look, I realise that you're none too bright and as usual jumped into an argument without reading the context of my post that you quoted.

Child benefit is a universal benefit, that means it is paid whther you are in work or not, even David Cameron receives child benefit, he doesn't have to claim it. Mind you he never refused the carer's benefit while his son was alive.

Spongers eh?

Time was when cars for those with "disabilities" were blue and had 3 wheels.

Going back to those days would ensure that those that needed mobility got it, without attracting people who could get some money and end up putting it to a £30k 4x4.

Like to see my wheelchair, mobility scooter and crutches fit in one of those things. You've been reading too much propaganda in the DM my friend because you certainly don't know how the motability scheme works. At one time you could get a 30k motability car but the downpayment was approximately 5k non refundable and believe me not many of us disabled have that sort of money. You should get your facts right before you post matey.

Sorry Cod but there are many girls in our very own city that do just that ive spoken to them !

Some people in this thread live in cloud cuckoo land.

We have no money left and people that scratch their ar$e all day need to get off it and start to bloo&y work and leave what bit of money that is left for people that really need it (oh no they don't want them jobs though do they to hard for them).

That one on the news the other night didn't want to leave her home in the wealthy suburb of london where all her rich friends are and school was for her 3 children who we all pay for. If real people lose there job they down size or sell one of the 2 cars they may have etc etc.

"Oh no not old yo yo knickers" If she knew she wouldn't be getting benefit from the tax payer, she might have tried to keep her legs closed for longer like lots of other morons that do it, just so they can be lazy scroungers for the rest of there lives.

I've had to work damn hard against the odds but i didn't ask for a penny. Sticking up for some of these absolute idiots, scrounging money off the tax payers, while some of our troops don't have enough armour, schools need more money, hospitals need more nurses etc etc it makes me sick that some of you on here can defend people abusing the system!

Too right it should be capped. Make people think twice before they try to screw the system. Get rid of the do gooders and we actually might get this great country running again which caters for all, but to many take the pi$$

If your on benefits for your first child as a single mum what gives you the right to start having 2 or 3 more when you couldn't afford the first one in the first place what a total joke.

Well done!

Someone else who apparently doesn't know what Child Benefit is, how much it is and who receives it.

Its about 80 quid a month for your first child less for your second etc etc
I presume everyone gets it.
Its the extras that go with people having kids that cant afford them.
I get on just fine with your views regarding our very great club but i will argue till they lock this thread about people having kids so they receive benefits be that child, council house reductions in bills etc

Saved me the bother of explaining it.

Child benefit is one small part of the ridiculous benefits that people get simply on account of having kids.
