The Unions were destroying the country. Thatcher saved it.

You can debate all you like about her methods, the speed of the turnaround etc but there is absolutely no doubt that she was vital for Britain.

If it was a private, privately funded funeral, I'd agree. That millions of pounds of taxpayers' money will be spent on the thing gives people every right to protest.

I think it's the least we can do to honour the great lady. Let's show the world a bit of class, reserve and dignity.

She never worried about other peoples dignity in life. Why should anyone worry about her dignity in death?

I was fairly disheartened by all the bile spewed out over the last couple of days but then this reputable article puts everything in perspective. Those that loved her, loved her not as much as their dinner. Those that hated her, hated her more than the devil. After all, 11 years in power tells it's own success story. Britain loves Maggie in it's own quiet, reflective and restrained way.
