Well I would imagine it's none of his business.

Since he/she likes to pontificate about economics, 'scroungers', unemployment and underemployment (the latter is choice, BTW) etc etc – without any evidence and, indeed, in the face of evidence (see Dave O's post below as a single example), I assume that Sheldon thought it would be of interest to know what he/she actually does. It might give some perspective on how they reach such opinions, possibly?

When are you going to give up on that stupid line? The best predictions for growth between now and the election equate to "not much growth". Trying to beat someone up because they state the truth is plain idiocy.

Your failure to acknowledge being slapped down by the Governor of the Bank of England no less is duly noted.

The Governor of the Bank of England has told you 3/4m people are underemployed.

He has told you the economic recovery is fragile and not broad based.

He has told you it is far too early to be using superlatives to describe the state if the economy.

Why should anyone dispute the views of that Canadian chappie at the Bank of England? They are eminently sensible and cautious, given the length and depth of the World recession we have just had.

Of course, what all you glass half empty people rather conveniently ignore, are the views of rlthe IMFrl, which paints a more optimistic forecast. I wonder why that is?

Indeed. There is enough of a witch hunt by the usual suspects on here, without giving them additional ammunition.

Which is an external (in terms of the country) organisation that pursues a particular economic ideology.

The question has been discussed here as to what sort of a game the head of the BoE might be playing, but the chances are he might also know more about this country and certainly in terms of issues such as underemployment.

Plus, he's not being pessimistic about the economic situation, but more realistic and calming, which given previous bursts of hype from varied sources should be welcome.

So there we have it. 1.9% growth for 2013 - the strongest since 2007 and is broadly based with manufacturing growing more than the other sectors. Yet more evidence that the Osborne/Cameron long-term economic plan is working. Infallation has fallen to the BoE target of 2%

The IMF have increased their growth forecast for the UK next year from 1.9% to 2.4% while most other economists now are predicting growth from 2.4% to 3.2%. Put this into context - the boom years of 1992-2008 we had growth of 3%.

Could well be by Christmas that all this will have worked its way through to benefit most people's pockets.

Great news for all except Egg Milliband & Ed Balls-Up who is still muttering about flatlining!

The BoE know they made a mistake in announcing they would review interest rates by tying to unemployment. They are now sensibly easing out of that position because they do not want to put any obsticles in the way of the recovery.
