Quote: DHM "I want to hear one of these "Fact" facts.'"

I can give you manyIn the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

And God said, “Let there be an expanse[a] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” And God made] the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so. And God called the expanse Heaven.[c] And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. God called the dry land Earth,[d] and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants[e] yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[f] and for days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds[g] fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

I see that you're still choosing to ignore the [ifact[/i that there are many scientists who believe in God. Is that deliberate or are you just a bit hard of thinking?

They don't [ireally[/i believe in God. Name me one reputable scientist who has been born again.

Not that believing in God gets you to Heaven, mind.

Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream:

I did a few pages back, Francis ****ing Collins

Quote: kirkstaller "More BS than you can shake a stick at'"

It's one thing to have people think you are an idiot but, its another thing altogether to display the workings of your mind on a website and prove the fact beyond all doubt.

You have demonstated a complete ignorance of the scientific method and what's more disturbing is that you choose to be wilfully ignorant of it. Even more disturbing than that, is some people you share your views with have access to impressional young minds within the education system.

Quote: kirkstaller "Perhaps you could repeat here then. Let's get this sorted once and for all. You can, of course, choose not to.'"

Only one of us chose never to answer. It was you. However they are all in this thread. One of us will have to go back and find them. As I already took the time to write them once, I think it's fairer that you now take the time to read them, as opposed to me having to find and repost them just because you could neither be arrsed to answer at the time, and can't be arrsed to look back now.

Quote: kirkstaller "Scientists come with baggage - their rejection of almighty God.'"

As has been said, there are many scientists of various faiths. But you know this.

Quote: kirkstaller "The hopping around of the age of the Earth?'"

Epic fail. Theories about the age of the Earth are in fact a good example of how science works. As a result of all the work that has been done, there is agreement that the evidence shows the Earth is an ancient celestial body, and the most accurate figures so far show an age of around 4 1/2 billion years. That is all based on extremely solid and extremely extensive hard fact and evidence. The better the methods, the more accurate the measurement. It's also quite funny, since no person, especially not you, can make a coherent case against the science, so you ignore it and pathetically bleat "it must be wrong though cos it ain't in our book".

Quote: kirkstaller " That is not a straw man.'"

Of course it was. I think it's all you've got.

But of course your list of replies to my many outstanding questions could I suppose always surprise me.

Kirkstaller quotes from his Bible and baldly states that this is a list of facts. Is it?

Quote: kirkstaller "
[iAnd God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. [/i'"

The Moon is not a light, though. The Sun is, and at certain times the Moon reflects the light of the Sun onto the Earth's night-side, at others it doesn't. But the Moon itself has no light. SO, God did NOT make two great lights. And so we have indisputable proof that here is a "fact" which is just plain wrong. Thus putting the kybosh on the rest of the rubbish, since you told us it is all 100% deffo incontrovertibly true.

Quote: kirkstaller "[iThen God said, “Let us make man[h] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”[/i'"

Can you enlighten me in what way, exactly, man had dominion over dinosaurs?

Quote: kirkstaller "[i"And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. [/i'"

But there are many animals that are carnivores. And there are many birds that eat only fish. Green plants don't cut it for them. And so we have more indisputable proof that here is a "fact" which is just plain wrong.

Also, there is no mention of mushrooms. As fungi are one of the most widespread life forms on the planet, this is odd. Is he forgetful?

I also don't see any mention of bacteria, or viruses. Another oversight? Also, why in the event does man not have dominion over viruses nor, until quite recent medical inventions, dominion over a whole host of bacteria, all of which until recent times most definitely held dominion over man? It doesn't say anything about fixing fscked-up stuff up later on when god had time, so it can't be that.

Do you have anything less easy to shoot down?

Are these questions cryptic or something? Like I have said, post them here for me to answer. If you feel the need, create your own thread.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "As has been said, there are many scientists of various faiths. But you know this.'"

No scientist who has been born again believes that life created itself. FACT.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Epic fail. Theories about the age of the Earth are in fact a good example of how science works. Accuracy of measurement, eh? What a sorry excuse. I'm sure the previous 'wrong measurements' were 'scientific facts' also? Facts are objectively constant, not a building exercise.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Of course it was. I think it's all you've got.'"

Look up the definition of a straw man. It's dishonestly distorting or making up your opponents position. I was pre-empting you stating that science's 'flexibility' was a virtue.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Kirkstaller quotes from his Bible and baldly states that this is a list of facts. Is it?

The Moon has the light of the Sun, but look in the sky, there are two great lights.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Can you enlighten me in what way, exactly, man had dominion over dinosaurs?'"

How dare you accuse me of ignorance when you show yourself here to be ignorant of scripture.

Why shouldn't men have dominion over dinosaurs? You do know that before the fall, all dinosaurs were herbivores?

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "But there are many animals that are carnivores. And there are many birds that eat only fish. Green plants don't cut it for them. And so we have more indisputable proof that here is a "fact" which is just plain wrong. '"

Again, you're demonstrating breathtaking ignorance.

Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "Also, there is no mention of mushrooms. As fungi are one of the most widespread life forms on the planet, this is odd. Is he forgetful?'"

I don't think so, but you seem kind of obsessed with mushrooms icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

Who or what was the being that created disease and virus ?

I think I want to worship that being or deity for it seems to be a lot more powerful and intelligent than your God.
