The country with the most time to prepare for the pandemic, has the highest death toll in Europe.
You are VERY easily pleased - Boris & co have made a right cock of this so far and the UK is starting to race away with the title of worst response to the covid19 pandemic.
I'm just surprised that you believe anything that this government tells us.
100,000 daily tests has been hit twice and only by counting tests that were "in the post" and not with tests that have actually been done

Had a busy day gardening, entertaining the offspring and a good guitar sesh (determined to nail that run in the Gary Moore 'Out In The Fields') solo
Ah look, here he is. His best contribution to this forum being 'yeah nearly nailed the barmaid through the wall...if only I was joking'. Bearing in mind she's apparently '16 years younger', you must at least be 34, of not older. How sadly, embarrassingly pathetic.
Jog on. Keep breaking the lockdown and boasting about it. People like you are helping spread CV19, and killing people. But you're special aren't you. Doesn't apply to you, doesn't it. You're a chancer, ain't ya, a cheeky chappy who gets away with it. A rogue.
If I thought you had the cojones to send me your real name and address I'd happily report you.
Well done. We're all very impressed.

| Quote: wrencat1873 "Ill ignore the first part of your post, which reads like a release straight from Tory central office.'"
I had thought better of you. Disappointed. I suppose at least you come out and admit you ignore the facts placed clearly before you. The rest don't even bother.
Quote: wrencat1873 "Of course there are significant differences between all of the nations involved and equally, there are differences in population mass and, yes, we may have large numbers of Chinese students in the UK.
However, despite having a few extra weeks to plan our response to the virus, the UK is stacking up casualties, greater in number and still at a quicker rate than those countries that we would usually choose to measure ourselves against.
IIRC, you were on of the posters who ridiculed my suggestion thet the UK had a bigger problem than just about all of our EU partners and yet, here we are 2 weeks later, heading the field and drawing clear of the rest.
The post that you chose to reply to this time was in response to "exiled down south" suggesting that Boris and the Tories were doing a great job - hello - they are not doing a great job
They are still taking the mickey out of the population.
First of all suggesting there wasn't a suitable test, despite Germany, South Korea, Singapore etc, etc being "happy" to test their population and instead, they fabricate their numbers - 100,000 tests a day by the end of April ?? FFS, they "hit" this figure twice and only by counting tests that were "in the post" and now, we cant actually hit it, it's embarrassing
They have utterly failed the staff and residents in care homes accross the country - at least Bojo appeared embarrassed himself over this and had no answer to Starmer's questions.
So, are YOU happy with the job that our government is doing - I'm certainly not and I remain thankful that none of our older relatives are currently in care homes.
Just as they did during the Brexit campaign and the GE campaign, the twisting of the truth (lies) continue aplenty and we still have a fecking huge recession to look forward to when we eventually come through the virus situation.
Do you think they will accept ANY responsibility for any of this or will we be overloaded with blame for the scientists who's advice we have been following.'"
Am I happy? Of course not. I've made it clear what we could have done better, but I don't accept the common accusation that 'everything is the government's fault'.
The difference between you and me is that I take circumstances and facts into account and dig for information. I gave you reams of numbers in that last post that clearly highlight and help explain the counting discrepancies here, and against other nations - your response 'I'll ignore that'. Absolutely typical. You rant and ignore the facts. That's why I'm calling you all pub bores - you're the grumpy old drunks at the end of the bar railing against the world with nonsense and conspiracy, wilfully ignorant of the facts.
It used to be possible to engage in a decent level of debate and conversation on here even with those that oppose you. That last two pages show exactly who cares to dig into what's going on, who can form a reasonable debate, and who just rants.
I certainly don't recall ridiculing any suggestion we had a bigger problem then our EU neighbours. Far from it. Risk management, forecasting and disaster recovery on a global scale plays a large part of my work role. I watched CV19 spreading from the very start and spent weeks planning and reacting. I said to my wife in mid-Jan CV19 would be everywhere within months and my view at that time was "we're probably all going to get it". Don't tarnish me with that brush.

The "ignore it" comment was because you were telling us things that are fairly obvious to most people that have tried to follow what has been happening and then speculate what mat be happening (or not) in the UK.
I may well be the proverbial drunk at the end of the bar - I only wish that there was one open to be drunk at the end of.
You say that I have ignored the facts and yet, I was right in saying that the UK would surpass Italy, France and Spain in it's death toll - just a lucky guess eh, especially taking account of my ignorance of the facts.
Again, the post that you replied to was having a go at a poster who was happy with our government and Boris's response to all of this and while I agree that they havent got "everything" wrong, they have failed badly on testing, very badly and they havent been great on PPE but, my biggest criticism of the government is their willingness to mislead the general public, fully backed by the majority of the media and blindly hailed by their friends in the press.
I pointed to the pattern which is forming, where Boris, aided by Cummings, is prepared to lie, twist and mislead everyone and I'm sorry, but, it's not good enough and for those that defend their lies, I have no time for them.
Politics has always been about spin but, our current government aren't cute enough to spin things, they'd rather go for telling lies until they are found out, much like Trump appears to do in the states. Coincidence ? I dont think so.

Classic example today.
David Davis MP posted a link on twitter and accompanied it with the words [i"If true, it is scandalous"[/i. He's posting things to his disciples, who are taking it at face value, and he doesn't even know if it's true or not himself!

Nothing for the NHS workers you're adding pressure to by breaking lockdown? The infections and deaths you and others like you are causing?
Nah, too selfish for that.
Interesting, isn't it. Had I behaved like a selfish arrogant man-child and bragged about breaking the lockdown, the lefty mob on here would have launched all-out war. Outrage and abuse would reach new levels. But no, he's one of the gang, they turn a blind eye and a few laugh along with it. Hypocrites.
