| The local elections results proving so far that Brexit is still a binary issue for most people it seems.

Indeed, bloody noses for the 2 main parties and the Libdams returning to their "usual" position.
Labour need to get of the fence and decide EXACTLY what they want to do about Brexit.
It's quite unusual for the main opposition party to "take a bath" in local elections and the one thing shown last night is that the country is seriously fractured over Brexit.
You have to smile that Labour are demanding a confirmatory vote on any Tory deal but, they wouldn't want the same if it was their deal.
They are basically saying dont trust the Tories but "you can trust us", really ??

Hardly a surprise when, the publics "vote" in the referendum hasn't yet been and may never be implemented.
If ever we were wanting a situation where the voting public would be made even more apathetic towards voting, Brexit could ensure that millions never vote again.
The two main parties are currently an utter shambles.

Indeed, I can vote for the blue duplicitous or the red duplicitous, hapless yellow or pointless green. Voting has become like snooker!

I think those who state they will never vote again because of Brexit are talking cr ap. It's like the annual Wigan board going into meltdown over a couple of defeats & speccies not renewing a season ticket having had one for 150 years. Similarly those who say X party will be in the wilderness for a generation are talking balls. I have heard it said about Labour 2 or 3 times over the last 30 years, Libs/Dems several times, & now the Tories. The Tories could (& should) be slaughtered in a GE but as soon as they get a leader who the right wing rags get behind they will be back, sadly.

The only 'cures' for myopia are eye exercises, glasses, contact lenses or surgery. Tablets would be pointless. As they are for rank stupidity, sadly for you.

I think you are wrong on the political wilderness issue.
Under Foot & Kinnock, Labour certainly had to sit out a few elections and similarly, when Blair made it to no 10, the Tories were pretty impotent for a while.
It all depends on the damage taken by the ruling party and of course, the effectiveness of the opposition to capitalise on their position.
With how utterly inept Mrs May has been, particularly over Brexit, Labour should be miles ahead in the polls and yet, they are 4,5,6 points up.
Therefore, even if defeated in the next GE, I'm not sure that the Tories are heading for the wilderness.
IF they can get themselves together, Corbyn will last 1 term, maximum.
Regardless of what his supported believe, the guy just doesn't have the universal appeal of say, Blair and his policies are a little too left wing to be universally accepted.
He could get in on the back of an utterly shambolic Government but, it wont be because of mass appeal.
I know that there will now be a barrage of comments on membership numbers etc but, Corbyn is not the person to "save" us.

Rank stupidity to you is simple intelligence and observation to most.
Keep your socialist rhetoric going, it's fun.

Yep, they should be.
Corbyn certainly doesn't have obvious charisma or smarminess or insincerity like Blair or Cameron. May completely lacks personality & ideology but it's not that that has ended her.
Out of interest, what particular Labour policies are too left wing for you? Investing in education, social services, health, policing, environment, workers' rights?
