| The problem is will the country accept a manifesto that is basically saying no change to the current status quo other than the additions of the economic problems Brexit will bring. I also remember the promise by the conservatives that they would not increase VAT, that one lasted well into the first session of Parliament.

| Quote: Cronus "The Tories are doing everything they can to avoid the mistakes last time round, when some bright spark at Tory HQ decided a crucial GE was a good time to roll out a highly controversial policy, which subsequently became known as 'dementia tax'. That was the killer.
So this time it's reasonably low-key (so far). The official manifesto launch is today, but I don't expect anything controversial - just 'good news' policies.'"
May's manifesto was a joke - neither Timothy or Gummer who wrote it are still operating within the Tory party - thankfully
I agree but there is no appetite for continued austerity and the public have to believe that the current status quo cannot be maintained. Investment in the NHS/Schools has to be delivered. I get where Boris is coming from - but he cannot do a May and hide - he has to be out there campaigning - Corbyn looks like he is slowing down a little.
I see have just found another £12bn of un-costed spend!! And the sneaky removal of marriage tax allowance impacts a hell of a lot more than the top 5% - seems it just not the Tories that aren't honest with the electorate!!

How is it sneaky exactly? It's in the manifesto.

For the Tories, nothing in the Labour Manifesto counts but it's ok for Boris to say what the hell he wants without any proper scrutiny.
EVERY promise made by him so far has proven to be wildly exaggerated or just plain wrong.
It will be interesting to see where any of the cash comes from to implement their spending spree and all without ANY tax rises

Well Angela Raynor was pretty coy when asked - she didn't answer.
All everyone hears is McDonald saying anyone earning <£80k will not pay anymore tax - that simply isn't true is it?
Given this policy impacts the tax of more people than any other tax policy you would think they would want to talk about it - Raynor certainly didn't on Marr this morning That's why its sneaky

Most sensible people know Labour's 85bn can't be funded by the rich and companies - it simply doesn't add up. Sorry that is now £97bn!!

And yet, you are happy that Boris "liar" Johnson will fund his 20,000 policemen, 50,000 nurses and 40 new hospitals etc, etc without raising taxes, sorry, I meant AND still cut taxes
On the plus side, the 10 page manifesto has restricted the capacity for further lies.
Btw, did you see the clip of Cummings on Andrew Marr, before he was taken on by Boris - he's another on who has quickly changed his views.
They are all opportunists, from Johnson, Gove, Raab etc
At least May, despite being a wind bag, tried to tell the truth and was scuppered by those who are now in charge.
It's a pity that she didn't have the balls to sack those who railed against her and this shower could have joined Farage formally, without doing deals down the pub. Peerage anybody ?

| Where do we start 40 new hospitals- false, initial increase in NI will save those that qualify £500 - false, 50,000 new nurses - false I could go on but you get the drift of the problem with anything that comes from the mouth of Johnson.

Apparently they're not lies, its "just his way"
Corbyn has put so much fear up the establishment's backside that, Johnson is on the equivalent of the last day of the Tour de France, a slow walk to his coronation.
I've said many, many times that I'm no fan of Corbyn or his policies but, some balance in the campaign would be way better than the lies and damn lies and to heat people say that they know that Boris is lying but they still like him and are going to vote Tory, makes me peuk.

I did see Cummings on Marr - he is probably correct but not just about the Tories its all MPs - they have completely lost touch with the electorate. Did you see McDonald on Ridge - yet another lie on the windfall tax - you know when McDonald is telling lies - his lips are moving. They are all as bad as each other.
So if you believe Labour can find £85bn from companies/rich/married couples then you have to believe the Tories modest pledges are definitely achievable.
If the NHS has 100,000 vacancies it must have a surplus of money or if it could recruit them then it simply wouldn't be able to pay them - so part of the cost of the 50,000 nurses must be covered by this surplus?
On hospitals - this is covered under the borrowing agreed for capital projects e.g. HS2
You talk about opportunists - no one more than McDonald if the WASP thing was so important why wasn't it in the manifesto? This has simply rode a coach and horses through their fiscal agreements - and they haven't even got into power!!

All you remainers want us to stay in the EU - no greater Capitalist body than the EU. The last thing capitalists want are restrictions to movement of people and capital - its ingrained in the EU constitution.

Let's look at McDonald:
Anyone earning less than £80k will not get a tax increase - lie
No Windfall tax - lie
Carbon neutral by 2030 - lie
£85bn - funded by the rich and corporations - lie
Workers rights will be impacted by the withdrawl deal - lie
A trade deal with the US would add a further £500m/week to the drugs bill - lie
Those in glass houses!!

And yet, it's the tightening of some of the EU financial rules which is the real driver behind Brexit.

| He blames the delay is costing 1 billion per month however what he failed to mention was that we get a rebate against this and that his withdrawal agreement agreed to continue paying the 1bn until the end of the negotiation period.
