| Ok so my contract with o2 will be up around June, and after 6 years of paying a around £35 quid a month and never being offered anything for loyalty to them I've finally decided to just not renew, stick with my iphone or maybe buy a new one out right and just go sim only.
The 2 networks which have caught my eye are Giff Gaff and Three, for around 10-15 quid I can get more minutes than I'll ever use, unlimited texts on gg/3000 on three which is more than enough, and unlimited data. (although on Giff Gaff its apparently not truly unlimited, but no one seems to know what they consider a fair amount of usage....)
What are peoples experiences with either of these? I understand Giff Gaff is a more community orientated sort of network and I shouldn't expect much in the way of customer service, but so long as the network coverage is good and my phone works that doesn't really bother me too much.

| Three are utterly fabulous. The best network in the country by a distance.

The more I think about it, the more I lean towards them. Had enough of 02 now. For the simple reason that they are a rip off.

It'd be nice if it included Championship level RL too!'"
There's a Love Rugby League app that I've just downloaded and that has all three divisions plus the NRL.

Just got the new Samsung Galaxy Note. It isn't actually as bulky and horrible as it looks. Superb for web browsing and watching videos on and quite simple to use really.

I think Three are a disgrace to be honest.
They cancelled my account 3 months into a 24 month contract. I was without a working phone for nearly 2 weeks, and all I got was shockingly rude staff who hadn't a clue. I was being told I got cancelled (not just cut off) for a Skype issue, someone else said I owed hundreds of pounds, others said it was a mistake etc. It went for ages, they only way I could actually speak to someone was to join Twitter! To be fair to them, the team on there did actually try to understand the problem and offered £10 credit. which i refused.
There's more to it than that but I won't go too far into it.
Currently awaiting my reply from the telecommunications ombudsman.
I can't stand Three. When I was Orange the staff in call centres etc were extremely good. Not sure if their call centres are still in England though, but they were helpful and knowledgable. I went to O2 for a bit as sister got me a discount, but never had any problems or anything which required me to speak to customer services.
If I could get a new contract now I'd go anywhere but Three!

| 3s data is unlimited for £3. Brilliance from them as ever.
As for how much you will use, just depends on how much you use it. The 'average' Android user will use 0.6gb per month, which includes using internet and social media everyday and the occasional download and video stream.
I'd say 1gb would be fine. On 3 you get an app which has information about your usage and they send you a text when you are near your limit. I'm sure the other networks would also do this?

| On '3' the customer service is abysmal. The shop staff cant help you if you are an 'online customer' - yeah right! And the call centre staff follow a flow chart where every other step says 'attempt to sell a more expensive handset.'.
They are the cheapest though!

| Yet another problem with the HCT Sensation. Since updating, my text inbox is not showing all messages. It seems random in what it shows, as if only one person has text me. If I send a text to someone, they come to top of list and all messages are there, but underneath the names is just black and I cannot scroll. I wondered if anyone knew a cause/solution as googles pretty unhelpful.

If you want to be offered something for 'loyalty' you have to phone up and threaten to cancel. Strange but true.

I used over 700MB last month on Giff Gaff without issue. I suspect you'd have to be hammering it pretty hard for them to notice.

Giff Gaff is an O2 reseller so you'll get the same coverage as you currently do with them. Also, if your phone is locked to the O2 network it will work fine with Giff Gaff. Dunno about their customer service as I've never needed it.

| Anyone tried to replace the front screen on an iPhone 4?
Dropped mine and its got a crack straight across the screen, although it still works perfectly! most shops or online places are charging £65-£80 for a replacement. But you cant get a replacement off ebay for £20-£30 and DIY. Looks complicated to say the least! Anyone tried it themselves? Or am i better off just taking the hit and paying someone else to do it.
Cheers

I've read before that you need (or are supposed to) replace the digitiser or something too. I think it's a shop tbh
But before you do, try a real Apple shop. Just say it broke while in a bag or something. Few friends of mine have done this and the shop just swap it with a brand new phone! this was iPhone 4 though, not the S, which may be a different story..

| Just got an iPhone 4S and having a weird but very annoying problem with my car's built in hands free. For some reason, although the phone is set to sort and display contacts first name, last name, my Sony Ford system is displaying them in reverse. After much googling I'm finding plenty with the same problem but no cure, I've already tried downloading and installing the latest Ford update. Has anyone come across this and have a solution?
