| Quote: Cronus "I spent ages last year looking around for a new phone, didn't want an iphone and went for a brand new LG touch-screen with all the gadgets. Over the course of the year the screen deteriorated and finally all I could see was static. O2 were great, their repair service is superbly fast but the first time they returned it, it didn't work at all so it eventually went back...when I got round to it.
The reason I wasn't that fussed was that I'd picked up an old work Nokia 6230 and shoved my sim in it. I love it. It's very quick and extremely simple to use, and small and lightweight. I can text like lightning and I've not missed internet connectivity in the slightest. I chuckle at my mates with their iphones standing prodding at the screens for 5 minutes trying to send a text and masturbating over those bullsht 'apps'?? My LG now sits gathering dust though I might sell it - people are still paying £100+ for them.
'"
Gotta agree.
The Nokia 6230 was a cracking phone.
Easy to make calls and text. B@llocks to all this fancy-dan rubbish about now.

| All the older phones were better. Less things to go wrong with them.
I had a K750i. Belting little phone, never broke on me once.

I just kept mine clean and it was fine.
The buttons started falling off after about 4years so i thought it was time to invest in a new one.

I'm paying £17 a month with Orange for my HTC Hero though i have been with them for a while now. Hero is doing just fine though my head is getting turned by the HD2. Looks a super piece of kit.

Still got my K750i as a backup in case the Palm Pre goes wrong. Belter of a phone, had it since 2 months after it came out (June 05) and no problems whatsoever. Its looking a bit worn and the camera slider thing is about to break but that aside, nothing wrong.
The camera was fantastic for just 2MP too.

Take a look at the HTC Legend and HTC Desire that are both due out next month. (Desire already available on TMobile)

| Had a K750i for close on two years without a fault and the 610 before that, never had an issue with the joystick.

I went looking at the HD2 today whilst in the trafford and yes it does look a fantastic bit of kit but i think i'd have to carry my rucksack everywhere as it would never fit into my pants pocket so think i may end up going for the Hero with the 2.1 upgrade. The missues wants a Palm Pre and the best offer the guy in the O2 shop would give me was £30 a month with 300mins unlimited texts/internet/WiFi but may have a word with my mate who works for O2 just to see if he could sort me a deal out

Before opting for the Hero, take a look at the Desire and also the Legend.
The Desire itself has a 1ghz processor

| Quote: Dally "I have no interest in mobile 'phones nor people's obsession with them. To me they are a tool to be used for practical purposes and as rarely as possible.
Having said that, in my experience Samsung's look pretty but are absolutely useless to use and fall apart. My wife has always had Nokias and has never had any problems. Indeed, I currently use one of her cast-offs, that was then cast off by the kids and is years old. Its the best 'phone I've had. I gave one of the kids a flash Sony Ericcson that was bought for me as the Nokia does a great job.'"
I've had numerous Samsungs and never once had a problem with them. Always been reliable for me, and as i said, never had any problems with them. I also know that Nokia are very reliable phones, hence its a tough decision and i'm still deciding. The only phone i've ever had a problem with was the Sony Ericsson W580i, the buttons kept cracking and some buttons would eventually stop working. I took it back and they sent me a new one, only for the same to happen again. I also no a few people that phone and they were having similar problems, so i'm not a fan of Sony Ericsson, although, it may just have been that model.
