How foolish they are. The demographics for the Tory party are jaw-droppingly bad so I really wouldn't get too excited lording it over what even in 2019 was a large majority of the electorate with different views.

Unfortunately you don't seem able to snap out of treating politics like you are supporting a sports team, desperately hoping your blue favourites win all the time and lashing out whenever they are criticised. I hope you won't mind me saying but it's really just very dumb, very simplistic behaviour.

Surely you are defending the indefensible, I bet you are one of the 9% that still believes that no party took place.
What about today when it was proved that da Pfeffel lied about his knowledge of the Downing Street apartment. He claimed the first he knew how it was funded was in February 2021 but WhatsApp messages show he was discussing it in November 2020.
The man is an habitual liar he can’t help himself but I guess whilst he has apologists like you he will feel vindicated.

Quote: The Ghost of '99 "Shall we pull together a quick list of the standard defences of the TDL on here so that we have them to hand when they next use them?

1. Leave Boris alone, he's doing his best.
2. This really terrible thing you're talking about is simply "old news".
3. What about Jeremy Corbyn!
4. You lot just hate Britain (followed up by "how dare you, I never questioned anyone's patriotism!"icon_wink.gif
5. All you can do is criticise!
6. I'd like to see Labour do better!
7. This [massive scandal] isn't an issue outside the Westminster/Labour elites.
8. No laws were broken.

(3, 5, and 6 of course are just boiler plate versions of whataboutism, their absolute favourite debating tactic of all)'"

Item 6 is highly relevant, obviously the tories are in complete disarray. So logically the voter will turn to the main opposition party which is the Labour Party. They will want to see if they have any any bright idea’s which will appeal to the nation. Will labour trot out the Marxist socialist garbage they presented at the last election ,or come up with something different. Immigration will be a major issue at the next election. At the moment several members of the Labour Party seem to favour an open door policy. Not certain that will go down well with the red wall voters. Reference criticism ,that works both ways, I merely mentioned to you that David Lammy was not very bright, predictably you came back with the tried and tested race card. Perhaps you could enlighten us with your ideas that labour could use to win the next election. I will help you out with one ,which should have happened years ago. Undertake mass building of social housing in decent areas linked to efficient public transport .
That would be a vote winner, labour had 13 years under Blair with cash in the bank and never lifted a finger. So both parties can share the blame on that failure.

Given the buffoonery in Parliament it strikes me as highly unlikely to be coincidence that the two MPs the right latch onto as emblems of this are Lammy and Diane Abbot. But there we go.

As for Labour, their policies are typically quite popular. The party isn't. That's the main issue they need to resolve.

Well it has to be said that the Tory Party is certainly the “Party of the Parties” icon_lol.gif

And I don’t doubt for one minute that Lyin Boris would still get the support of 75% of Tory voters and the white van man Brexit mob to cling to power.

We’ve hit rock bottom icon_biggrin.gif

Yes that’s the one lady nugee sneered at . You have the same vote as anyone else , so come the next election if the tories don’t improve ,labour will win.

Alternatively you could have used bulls and rhinos fans as an example whose thoughts of periods of domination has now come to an end, how foolish would that have been if we only dealt in suppositions.

There are a lot of things I'm desperate to see in life squire including in the sporting circles which you allude to, success for Yorks CC, Barnsley FC, and the mighty Trin and not in any particular order, however you matey must be very deluded if you think I'm desperate for the Tories to win all the time, there quite simply the best of a very poor alternative, and just maybe if you weren't that ensconced in every thing labour you might see it, the problem is you make arguments against us just to keep your inherent hatred of the Tories fuelled, other wise you'd have nothing to whinge about, take advise from scarlet pimpernel now that man can whinge for a living, he'll give you alternative challenges if that helps.

I'm not even a Labour supporter but I'd take their democratic socialism-lite over the corruption and incompetence and instability of the current government any day.

Quite why you are going out on such a limb, being screwed over daily for a party you claim not to support I have no idea. You must dread waking up to the news each day when they've been found to have cringingly lied again or abandoned a previously resolute position again, leaving you having to come out and move in line with them every time. I feel a bit for you, it's a really quite abusive relationship.

Sorry but I'm finding this part of your post difficult to understand, you say your not even a labour supporter, okay I'll accept that to a point, I say I'm not a Conservative supporter but yet you won't accept that on it's face value and vehemently accuse me of being one despite my continued denials, never had you down as a hypocrite, perhaps you'd like to explain the subtle difference.

I'm not sure I'm going out on any limb, it is what it is, it won't matter whose in charge of the country I along with yourself and the rest on here will ultimately get screwed over as you eloquently put it, and as for your own admission that you have no idea is unfortunately painfully true.

It could be a lot worse waking up to the stark reality of life where I have no food to eat or fresh water to drink or being randomly blown up or traveling thousands of miles seeking a half decent home, and I'll pass on the things what's happening nearer home thanks, so no I don't dread waking up on a morning listening to politicians arguing about points they think the public want to hear.

Please save your sympathies for those that need them which fortunately I'm not one, Instead of grand standing on here, get off yer arris and help out where it's needed, or you could even try and educate some of your mates on here, that may be a challenge too much though.

Go on then, for clarity explain to me where I'm defending the indefensible in my post you quoted, and irrespective of whether this party ever took place, explain to me where you got the 9% from, have you worked it out all by yourself icon_eek.gif or have you got it from another source.

I've extracted this bit from your War & Peace effort to highlight what is presumably obvious to most people. Denying you're a Tory but constantly defending the Tories rather makes your protestations hard to believe. I don't believe I've had that much cause to comment on Labour on here, still less defend them, but certainly every post doesn't involve that.

A plaster for every sore springs to mind here, things are only obvious to those what think are obvious btw, I don't see it the same as you, offering alternative opinions doesn't and shouldn't make me a tory supporter by asking you to prove your innuendos and the rumour mongering, and as you rightly remark, you don't have much cause to comment on anything labour that's rather obvious really, even to those with learning difficulties on here, it's simply a tory bashing thread, nothing to change my mind here squire, utter hypocrite.
