I think natural talent will get someone so far, sporting wise more so, entertainment wise not so. The key ingredient is drive and desire, the ones who make it, flawed genius or not all work very very hard to get to the top. The best agent and adviser in the world wont make someone the very best at what they do.
Like wise IQ and intelligence, a high IQ gives you the tool to do something but there are some very stupid intelligent people and a lot of people who can blag being intelligent without being. |

Nice one. I am sure that I will look at the portrait of my dear late partner, who died giving birth to our child, that I have on my left shoulder when I am older and think "That looks stupid" Did you ever stop to think that some people get tattoos for different reasons before making such a sweeping statement? |

I think it's pretty clear that people get tattoos for many reasons. Having a child, a loved one who has passed, a sporting or musical idol.
That doesn't change the fact tats often end up looking a bit saggy, discoloured and generally pretty rubbish as the years pass.
Each to their own n'all that. Everyone's entitled to their views. |

I really have no strong view - but this current trend for getting full sleeves, neck and hand tattoos etc, will come back to bite a few people in the bum when they finally enter the grown up world; right or not, it will have an impact on your ability to work in certain professions. But clearly not as RL player.

Totally agree. Be interesting to see what the Todd Carney's will look like in 30 years time.  |

Big tattoos can look really good. Too often though people just get literally too much ink, so that from anything further than 2 feet away it just looks like grey/green clothing, particularly on the arms. Each to their own though.
