You can disagree with me all you like but its not my policies, its the governements. I've told you what is happening. They even used Financial Privilege to overturn the House Of Lords' Ammendments to ESA. Granted, the HoL didn't totally disregard ESA but they put in some sensible Ammendments that would "soften the blow" so to speak but Grayling just steam rollered that.
If you had bothered to read all of my posts, I have posted facts & figures from DWP's own documents, posted articles from disability groups detailing what the government are doing and even posted questions from my ESA50 form.
If you disagree with what I'm saying, then do some research yourself on ESA & DLA/PIP and come back with some sensible comments.

| It looks like DWP's Workfare scheme may be in a spot of bother.
rlEmployers reject jobs scheme that's all work and no payrl
It seems that public pressure and bad publicity can make a difference, if not to Government policy but at least to the attitudes of the targeted employers.

An ultimatum ?
"Keep sending us more free workers to replace the ones we have to pay wages to but put a bit of icing on the cake so the public swallow it easier".
Bad news follows this governments policies around like a piece of toilet paper stuck to a heel and like a piece of toilet paper stuck to a heel, they can't see it.

| Graylings name calling of "job snobs" is quite frankly disgusting and appalling. I would love to stack shelves/operate a till in Tesco's (not for nowt though). I loved working for Grandways in my student days. Unfortunatley my hands wouldn't let me lift any goods to the shelves or scan through tills as my wrists and fingers are tissue damaged. He is either too thick to realise there are disabled people who are phsically incapable of doing the work or he doesn't care. I know which my money's on.

No no no. You just don't get it. You're supposed to lose your benefits and be happy about it. You just need to get a grip and get yourself to work. Then with all the money saved that you've been unnecessarily draining from hard-working taxpayers like Ajw you can hire a carer to look after you. Presumably a private one since the NHS is to be privatised and presumably this carer is on a decent wage with an expense account.
This is the real world, you just need to get a grip and calm down dear.

I see the Welfare Reform Bill is working then
www.channel4.com/news/families-b ... s-minister
Its not just families with kids either. When my ESA stops in September hubby will be better off giving up his job and going on benefits too. Its the passported benefits that would help us the most, not the actual cash every fortnight.

| rlRemploy to close "loss-making" factoriesrl (thanks for the link Minty)
Yet another "price worth paying"?
Close the factories, remove or reduce any subsidies to others and let those employed go onto benefits? Yeah sounds like a real plan.
Shortly after my old man was demobbed in 1946, the horrors of four years fighting in the Burmese jungle finally took their toll and he suffered an almost complete breakdown. Not fit enough to go back to work on the docks, he was eased back into it by spending some months at Remploy. They taught him basic DIY and caprentry skills but more importantly, they gave him the confidence to go back to driving his crane on Hull docks.
Now this bunch of shysting cockroaches want to remove yet another basic tenet of the post-war Welfare State by probably driving the final nail into Remploy's coffin. Thatcher made the first move by virtually privatising the organisation, now Cameron and his LibDem stooges are looking to finish the job and let the vulnerable wither where they lay.
Angry doesn't even begin to describe my mood.
rlI can only dreamrl yet still worry about just how much irrepairable damage they can inflict in the next three years.

Its clear to most that Cameron is playing with very high stakes, as we used to say "s[ihi[/it or bust" - his plans have to be rushed through because the quicker he gets them in place the more chance he has of any of them actually starting to work (given benefit of doubt) before the next election, he now has no more then three years to bring down unemployment and ride the tide of poverty stricken disabled critics - not forgetting almost all of the NHS, etc, etc.
I hope that Labour are sitting on their hands just waiting for him to fall because they sure as hell aren't proving themselves to be a vicious opposition at the moment.

Sounds like even DWP advisors didn't know this was happening as I had my first Work Related Activity Group meeting at the JobCentre last month and when I asked just who would employ me the first thing my advisor said was Remploy. It was snowing and icy and when I pointed out it wouldn't be safe for me to be out on the ice he advised they also do a pick up and drop off for those with mobility problems. He was really pushing me to consider Remploy and tried to make me go on a "workshop" course with them.

Don't worry about it: the government will probably have solved that problem by slashing whatever benefit your husband would go onto by then.
