| I've just bought three of the top five.
On your head be it.
Only if I don't like them, Ms. Terrorist has obviously vetoed her opinion by buying the "Sex In The City" box set.
I'm painting a bad picture here, she's (isn't gonna come as a shock this) far more intelligent than I, she just has a much tougher job.

Excellent. I'm sure even a SITC fan would enjoy [iIn the Mood for Love[/i.

Big fan of Requiem.
I've got Primer, so I'll have to finally give that one a watch at some point.

| Gareth Edwards' [iMonsters[/i is on Film4 tonight at 9pm. One more for the Linklater crowd than the JJ Abrams one.

| I really enjoyed Monsters, even more so after I watched the extras on the DVD showing how the film was made, particularly Edwards doing his own special effects on his laptop.
Requiem is one of my all time favourites. Again I have the DVD and the extras include a full length documentary about Hubert Selby Junior, the writer of Requiem and Last Exit to Brooklyn, which also makes you see both films in a different light. Selby had a cameo in both films.

| Got around to watching [iDear Zachary[/i. Puts you through the mill that one doesn't it lol.
Should also say that the International Womens' Film Festival takes place in St John's as I was pricing up which film festivals I could afford to go to that may be within my price range. Not interesting, just coincidental.

| Watched rlStake Landrl last night - hadn't even heard of this film before stumbling across it yesterday.
Kind of a mash-up of The Road, I Am Legend and Zombieland (without so much humour), certainly a different take on the post-apocalyptic monster theme (in this case vampires, or 'vamps'). Definitely worth a watch - brutal, gritty and intelligently subdued for a 'horror'. Some original ideas (I'll just say helicopters) and even a narrative all keep you switched on. I even felt another 30 minutes would have allowed the expansion of a few sub-plots. Strong performances from the largely (and nicely) unfamiliar cast.
8/10

| Watched Martyrs the other night. I was enjoying it and, unlike most horror films, I actually found it pretty unsettling at first with the whole child abuse/revenge angle. However, when all the stuff about the afterlife was brought in, I just thought the film had taken a massive detour and it felt completely out of place.
