Based on the data I'd say the UK Government, NHS and SAGE have done an appalling job in protecting/saving the weakest and most vulnerable in our society. Everyone involved in those organisations should hang their heads in shame. Second highest C19 death toll (deaths per million) in the world. Roll on the public inquiry.

I am less concerned about the death rates than I am about those who suffer from long Covid and those who are likely to have longer term health problems.
Absolutely loads of evidence that may younger people who had milder Covid have PERMANENT lung damage.
Many others have heart wall muscle damage .
Those who have died are the tip of the iceberg .
We do not yet have figures that are reliable enough to tell us what the long term effects on population/ death rates and health problems in the future will be.

you've produced this post yet you've not provided the link to back this up, I thought the forum ruling was if going to post you had to provide your evidence where you got it from,
we've had one crank dismissed feeding misinformation and if I remember right you backed up the crank on the wakey forum that went for 100 or so pages

| How many people went into hospital with other conditions - caught Covid in hospital and died?
I know its heresy but the NHS has not covered itself in glory when dealing with the pandemic - good job we protected it - otherwise it could have been complete carnage.
The idea that nurses - the majority of which had no involvement with Covid deserve a 12.5% pay increase is bonkers. That's unions for you - barely in touch with reality.

I've heard estimates on the TV/Radio (GMB/BBC Radio 4) between 20 to 25% caught it on NHS hospital wards. Appreciate if anyone could share the information where this has been officially acknowledged.

They're not "my" figures. I'm posting the official data.
Conclusions - that would be for an independent panel with no conflicts of interest to decide.

So, why post them in relation to a "vaccine guinea pig" thread. Surely you have a reason or, was it a random act on your behalf ?

As you are well aware very little research on the long term affects of Covid exists because we have only being dealing with Covid for 12 months so not really possible to evidence the long term effect. It is the same as saying their is no evidence that Brett Hodgson will be beneficial to HULLS development .
What we do know is that people with Covid are being diagnosed with irreversible lung damage. One study suggests up to 10% of those infected. Not those who have died but 10% of all infected including younger people who fall outside your sick and elderly deaths stats.
The effect in them in the long term will not be known for 5 10 or 20 years. But any Dr will tell you if you have permanent lung damage whatever the cause your prognosis and life expectancy is reduced in the long term

Yes I've read about reports on "long covid" but without hard official data it's difficult to quantify the medium to long term impact on the overall population. For those with poor health it's not going to help matters but for someone like Novak Djokovic he's still in peak fitness...
It stands to reason all diseases, bone breakages, operations & respiratory viruses must have a negative impact on a number of people's health. Take even the Flu for example

The affects of covid certainly need measuring on the human body; a check of increased hospital treatment post infection would be a good place to start. I'll get onto searching for the NHS hospital / treatment data when I find the spare time.

I'm here to inform by providing facts that you never hear being quoted on the BBC or Sky News. The Sin Bin can become a bit of an echo chamber at times. I'm researching the Vaccine data and will provide my findings in due time.

Squeeze healthcare budgets to the core for a decade.
Come a pandemic which you deal with utterly incompetently, exclaim fury that the system you've driven into the ground doesn't work as well as it might.
Conclusion: more cutbacks and real wage decreases for you lot. That'll learn 'em .
To think you accuse other people of living on a different planet. The party you apparently vote for over and over are the people who have run the system for 11 years now. Constantly holding the wrong people responsible is quite some achievement.
