[i'The back-end of the pantomime horse has to be Government. We don't elect Findus. We don't elect food companies. We elect Government to defend us... Not only did the Labour Government abandon random testing of processed food but the Tories have cut 700 food standards officers. Now what kind of false economy is that? ... The people who are supposed to regulate the activities of business in this country are the elected politicians and they're just not even at the starting gate on that.''[/i

So, Labour raised the flag and the Tories opened the starting stalls?

well, if you're going to abandon testing, then there's no point employing people to test.

Go back further. The process of deregulation etc began in the 1980s. Successive governments have continued it.

Which point was supposedly incorrect?
The one where I agreed that cottage pie is supposedly beef or the one I agreed shepherds pie was lamb?
Or was it referring to a dig at a political event a satire?
Anyway, don't want to derail this thread any more over minor points of comprehension.

Good. I have dashed off a memo to all the horses I am backing at Cheltenham, so they are under no illusions.
