"The Public wants what the Public gets" - Paul Weller:icons077e_files/5885-54zedonite-msnicons.jpg |
|
| Quote: Cronus "
Yes we remember what that woman and her dogma driven illogical poodles did and look at the mess the country is in now. The same applies across the pond thanks to the idiot actor and the shrubs who followed.
The whole thing is now blooming as was foretold but then some find it convenient to forget whilst others struggle with joined up thinking allied to a global economy based on greed with little humanity. They planted the seeds.
Strange then that the right wing apologists blame those that suffer the consequences of their actions for the situation occurring in the first place.

We're in a worse mess now, than we were in 2010.

Odd little fellow. Getting more ridiculous every day.

Keep the faith, bro.

| I have the feeling the SNP dominance of Scotland will last for a while, particularly if they can wangle "special Socttish" things from the UK government. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it all falls apart eventually, but isn't the real challenge for Labour to get itself elected in England and Wales?

Can't really blame a global recession on Labour.
Good to see the Tories making the people who caused the recession pay for it though. The poorest and most vulnerable in our society, rightly paying for their actions in the global markets via austerity. That'll show em.

You can't blame for anything - none of it was their fault they could not have done anything more?
This is the party whose leader congratulated the banks on doing such a good job - you need a reality check.

| If the British political system worked as it is SUPPOSED TO I'd be more than willing to make Corbyn favourite as the next leader of the country. His politics are at least within the same solar system as the Common Man's (barring the usual aspirational wannabees and weirdos).
But if the role of Prime Minister ever carried much clout it leaked away a long, long time ago.
I certainly don't think the position has wielded much authority internationally since the humiliating climb-down on Suez.
Political leaders these days are little more than well-paid fall guys. Their job is to divert the public's attention away from the true source of power (big business, finance, defence, drug-trafficking etc.). How long they last in the job really does depend on how well they manage to insulate their benefactors from harmful legislation (or prosecution). Like a sponge they soak up enmity until reaching a point of super-saturation whereupon their masters cut them loose in favour of a new shiny object which will distract the masses.
In the (incredibly rare) event that one of them decides to develop a mind of his own then there are a whole suite of tools designed to remind him of the fragility of his position.
Once out of office they are immediately isolated from prying investigation and quietly go about enjoying the rich rewards they earned from selling their souls.
The whole system is broken from top to bottom.

I'd say it was working exactly as designed to. There's nothing broken about it.

| So.... Corbyn has rompt to victory with nearly 60% of the vote, with a 75% turn out.

| I suspect Cameron and his gang will be enjoying their beer tonight. Jobs secured for the next 10 years
Both Tom and Jerry's speeches were shocking at the conference. 'Comrades and movement', what sort of terminology is that in 2015!
