Quote: Goochie "Watched Human Centipede last night, terrible, terrible film. There just seemed no point to it, and it was obvious what was going to happen a couple of scenes before it actually did.

And were those two women at the start being ironically bad actresses or was that them actually 'acting'?'"

Without being condescending the film title would have been a bit of a giveaway for me. icon_lol.gif

Quote: McClennan "Continuing the countdown. Into the top 50 from rl50 to 41rl.

Freeview Film of the Week
If you're looking for something to watch/record this week and don't mind watching low budget world cinema then I recommend [iKatalin Varga[/i on BBC4 Wednesday night at 12.50am, which will be appearing in my countdown of the best of the 00s. It's a debut feature from a British guy who could only get funding for his project in Europe so he took it to Romania. If you can get by without reading the synopsis you're in for a treat and the same with the opening twenty minutes or so because this a slow-paced and complex morality tale. Little seen but brilliant.'"

Loved Jesse James so much I bought it, only the other week I thought I need to watch that again. I never had a problem with the length of the film.

I love Napoleon Dynamite also, however it seems to be a love or hate type film.

Enjoyed Crank but, surprised to see it so high.

Only just seen this so will have a look at all the other countdown lists.

HANNA - Ultimately disappointing. Some reasonable action scenes but the story was dull, uninspiring and predictable.

INSIDIOUS - First half of the film wasn't bad with some scary moments. Second part was rubbish and completely ruined the film. Shame.

BAD TEACHER - Amusing throughout and Cameron Diaz did okay with a good supporting cast. Not hilarious but worth a watch.

FAST FIVE - What it says on the tin. High octane, testosterone fuelled action. Fast cars, hot bodies and bullets galore. Very enjoyable.

Quote: McClennan "I'm pretty weak on South American cinema and have seen maybe one or two which are pre-80s. Let me know if it's worth a look because I've got a backlog of films to watch and I'm not sure I can be d adding another if it's just a curiosity lol.'"

I'll be honest mate, I gave it a quarter of an hour and it was painfully labored and disjointed.

I lost the will to live and gave up on it.

Paranormal Activity 3...4/10

quite a disappointing film imo. Was'nt expecting much better tbh, with it being a 2nd sequel. The " jumpy" scenes were a bit too obvious coming, and the ending was'nt really in line with the film. Hope they don't make another, tries too hard to be a " Poltergeist" and fails on just about every level. Save your money and wait for the dvd if you must.

Tomorrow... Contagion.

Watched Wrong Turn 4 last night, if you can get past the p[oor acting its a pretty good bloody film. If you like the 1st 3 id recommend it.

I watched The Fall last night. Basic story - an American stuntman in the 1920s makes friends with a little immigrant girl in a hospital after being paralysed from the waist down when a stunt for a film goes wrong. He starts to tell her this story which we see played out through the girl's imagination.

Visually, it was stunning (I think it was shot in about 20+ countries around the world or something like that) and it was rare in that it featured a child performance that was cute and charming rather than massively annoying. Also, considering the premise for the film seems like a typical kids' film, it was anything but that with a fair bit of violence - think it was actually given a 15 certificate.

Did anyone see Mesrine Killer instinct on FX. ( second part this weekend) Mesrine started as a young soldier in Algeria and basically ended up in a torture unit. Leaves the army and joins up with some gangsters in paris in the late 50s early 60s.

Absolute psycho happy to rob or knock anyone off.

Goes to Quebec and joins the liberation front, robs and murders a lot of people escapes from prison. Then goes back to break out the other prisoners and offs five guards then heads back to France.
A true story about a french gangster who makes the Krays etc look like schoolboys.

Vincent Cassel plays Mesrine has to be one of the best actors around.

Superb if you missed it try and catch up with it some time
