It's inhumane, clearly illegal and will cost a lot more than just treating the people concerned like every other civilised country in the world does.

None of which is the point any more for this government - they don't care about making good public policy or solving actual issues. It's just more of the same: distraction/culture war/white identity politics. The whole objective of a policy like this is to try and make this an issue rather than their chaotic or disastrous or law-breaking involvement in almost everything else. Bump up immigration as an issue to focus on and they know the same sort of foreigner-hating red-faced furymongers they drove a wedge through over Brexit will lap it up. And, they hope, just might turn out in the local elections next month.

I see that, that Johnson fellow although he's not doing too well on the home front is excelling being at the heart of Ukrainian problem along with Joseph Biden, to be fair there isn't a great deal on the positive front to say about Kier is there, I'm surprised as a Liberal your championing Kiers lack of effort, in his defence though Kier is a master at stating the obvious and regurgitating old news just like one or two on here, got to hand it to that Johnson bloke though at the moment he's running rings round Kier and his mates
