NK has been in breach of the NPT for decades, and nothing of any substance has been done - now I guess the world has changed, and they will have to be included as part of the shaky MAD doctrine that stops these people from vaporising the whole world.

Doesn't even need to do that. Attaching it to a ballistic missile is no mean feat - these bombs weigh a helluva lot and his missiles are a long way from being able to carry one effectively.

No, he can simply drop one on Seoul, less than 20 miles from the border. Follow that up with the hundreds (thousands?) of artillery pieces he already has trained on the city and there wouldn't be much left standing. Of course there wouldn't be much left of NK within a few days but this would be a truly devastating course of events.

NK is a serious problem with no easy solution. China are already p*ssed off with them yet they continue. The USA, while far from perfect, has tried talking for decades to no avail. Any military solution would be a disaster for everyone but NK simply will not change course - and from their perspective why would they?

So, how far down the road of true intercontinental nuclear capability does the rest of the world allow them to progress? This country that has, for decades, repeatedly issued threats to SK and the USA, amongst others?
