Even in this weird and brainwashed political climate, where working class people are prepared to believe that the Tories will ever act in their interest, there has to be a limit to what people will put up with - surely?!'"
Just so, I literally look at what this govt has done and can't see why working class people would vote for it to continue. Those I've spoken to have their doubts about Corbyn, which is fair enough - but surely he's worth a shot considering May's record as both Home Sec and PM.

| Our first pass the post voting system is not very fair. Certain parts of the country and various towns and cities, if you support one particular party you don't stand a chance.
If you look at the votes cast for the snp and the number of people they have in parliament. Things won't change as this system has been debated in the press and parliament countless times . Nobody seems to be keen to change things.

It's unbelievable that she can get away with going to a "factory" in Leeds and surround herself, not with it's employees but, with Tory activists, all pretending to work there.
It's an absolute disgrace and should not be allowed.
It's one thing to hand pick "sympathetic" employees to ask questions but to use "rent an employee" is disgraceful and if we had any decent journalists or media that were not "on her side", she would be exposed as a fraud and a coward.

When Corbyn speaks to the CBI rather than the Teachers Union then I will agree with you - speaking to a audience hanging on your every word is easy as both Corbyn and May have shown. The fact you haven't said the same about Corbyn shows your myopia.

He literally spoke to the FSB earlier in the month. May? Not so much.

May spoke in South Wales - when Corbyn speaks to an audience of serious right wingers come back - it won't happen and you know it. Both sides pick the audience Corbyn is no different to May.

You are clearly one eyed if you believe that - Corbyn is out and about talking to plenty of people - admittedly not in Tory Heartlands - but thats not his priority, he's got enough on with the many marginals he's faced with.
May is travelling around renting halls to talk to the people she brought with her!

You name a hostile audience Corbyn has spoken to since the election was announced? Scottish Unions and the Teaching unions are hardly hostile - your support for Corbyn is noted?
Why does May need to even be out there - as the incumbent her priorities are different to that of Corbyn - but both are addressing very compliant audiences. Where has Corbyn addressed a very right audience?

Semantics - I'm not expecting May to go and speak at the Unite offices, but going to a factory after the workers have left and talking to your own entourage is a bit strange no?
Similarly I'm not expecting Corbyn to rock up at a bankers convention, but at least he's addressing people outside of his own staff. He was talking with NHS staff the other day.

So he was speaking to a group a people who he was saying that he was going to remove the shackles on their pay and that is really that different to May hand picking her audience - really?

Definitely, plenty of high earners in the NHS who would be wary of plenty of his policies. Granted the Tories are starving the NHS to make way for complete privatisation so maybe a tad more Labour friendly.

| I'd imagine a poll of NHS employees would be massively pro Labour given the fact that the vast majority are not on high wages at all. Doctors and some administrators/managers might be on a lot but they'd be dwarfed by the number of people not in high earning roles.
