| Quote Maple Leaf="Maple Leaf"Isn't it about time that spitting was deemed to be a criminal offence rather than a civil offence?
Immigrants from countries where TB is still widespread do bring it into the UK which is why it is now rising again. It is spread through sneezing and coughing as this creates a fine mist which other people can breathe in.
If you now look at the TB hot spots, they all have 1 thing in common, high population of immigrants, who spit on the floor non stop.
This is a public health hazard - if you defecate or urinate in public it is a criminal offence. Why not apply the same criteria to spitting?'"
Let's start with the opening statement . Why not go and spit at a copper and see if its a "civil" matter or assault and if you end up being charged with assaulting a police officer and rightly so.
The rest of your post all I can suggest is you must of done some rigorous testing to have the balls to come on a site like this and spout such bile. I'm not doubting you have conducted the test but going round inhaling sneeze mucus or licking doorhandles after an infected poorly person as used a door is really the kind of science I would expect from a character off Monty python's flying circus.
But the very fact that you isolate your findings to one group frightens me and I'm sure other right minded people. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?
What next , ever since the euro tunnel was built and farting French men were allowed in southern England you have had CJD . you sir are a prize (****©)

I think that's a bit over the top. Spitting and sanctions for it have been in the news this week. TB has become an issue in the UK again - and primarily among immigrant communities (although they also tend to live in poverty and poor conditions). The only thing that I found odd / objectionable was the assertion that immigrants spit "non-stop."

| Have a look at the number of countries where people have to have a TB test and prove they're clear before they get a visa to come to the UK and then tell me its just "immigrants". If indeed TB is increasing at all, Nick.

| Sometimes you need to see your G.P. for a T.B. jab if you are out having a few beverages going from pub to pub and then just as you carnt hold the fancy cocktail with with fruits and fancy umbrellas anymore you end with a prick breaking skin and making you bleed .
Now im not sure any of the above applies to maple leaf. Hes a big man whom drinks beer from his doc martins and can take the pricks all day long without bleeding.
Oh so im told by Gay Gordan my uncle

Funny: I live in Hackney, which is one of the 'hotspots' and not far from Tower Hamlets, which is another. I've lived here for more than two decades and have yet to see any of the immigrant communities "spit on the floor non stop".
Which of these hotspots do you personally know and where have you witnessed this?

I have to have regular chest xrays because the drugs I am on raise the risk of TB for me and I have to tell my GP immediately if I have come into contact with anyone with TB. Funnily enough it doesn't say on the contraindications that I must keep away from immigrants which would be impossible for me because I am one!
Go on spout your racist nonsense on an EDL forum because it isn't welcome here.

Enfield is to become the first place in England to make spitting a criminal offence
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-23429849
Quote without reasonable excuseThe proposals which were supported by more than 4,000 residents, would make it an offence to spit in the street "without reasonable excuse", but does not cover spitting into a handkerchief or tissue.
Secretary of State, Mr Pickles, said: "Spitting is a deeply anti-social and unpleasant practice... not socially acceptable."'"
So, micro-social engineering, then. Funny, that. I watch a lot of Premiership and European and world football, and so far as I can see, the average player can't move more than 3 or 4 paces without a good gob. Punctuated by regular pinched nose snot-evacuations. Are they going to station the police around every football field, with snatch squads to whip the offenders into detention?
And why Enfield? Surely it should have been Spitalfields?
However, the real question isn't whether the habit is disgusting (it is), but whether we are at any risk from it.
Dr Val Curtis, director of the Hygiene Centre at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine should probably know.
Quote without reasonable excuse="She" "From a health perspective it is reasonable to say there are many more dangerous things in the world than spitting in the street... but it is a manners issue."'"
Basically that would be a "no", then.
